Aliens vs Predator 2 remaster by Nightdive.
Alien survival TPP FPS, a'la Dead Space series.

Fallout 4 but Aliens. Just two major factions (WY and colonist rebels, and maybe soem bonus space pirates/mercs) but a lot of minor ones. Rogue combat droid, corporate and colonist sub-factions, traders, scientists, mercenaries etc.

Colonisation ship heading to a newly designated planet to set up a 'shake n bake' colony sets down and the ship unpacks into the atmosphere processor automatically.

Xenomorph hive management/RTS game. AVP 2011 isn't as bad as everyone says. None of the AVP games are very good outside of the Marine campaigns but for some reason no one minds this in 1&2 and people only ever bring it up when talking about 3.

Modernised AvP2 Survivor:

Unless you get some sort of tf2 like community, its going to be ruined by players calling devs to balance it until or the unique or fun stuff is removed from the game.
I think a simpler game would be to make a PvE, marines vs aliens game. Say 32 marines go into a hadley hope like facility, and have a list of objectives to accomplish. Aliens spawn and slowly pick off the marines, starting like Alien 1 where its more stealth kills but as the objectives are completed they start swarming like Aliens and eventually you have to make last stand to defend a drop ship against a massive swarm.

This is a pvp game though. The gameplay is in the tense situations of cunning aliens players either relentlessly assaulting marines or cunningly hiding in vents or shadows and ambushing marines. The main draw of gameplay is the thrill of making it to the evac after mission complete.

Taking a firm stance and openly acknowledging that marines are OP would be the response. Aliens have infinite lives. The marines aren't expected to survive. Maybe 5 players would be lucky to make it out alive.

As I said, marines would be expected to not survive. Infinite bug spawns. While marines have ammo, they are unstoppable, but it quickly turns into a survival horror experience. Balance would probably mostly need to be centered around alien detection of marines. How do you allow a small group of marines to be undetected, while also having the scent build-up system to prevent marine players from just camping in bottleneck areas and killing bugs and drawing out the round.

People play the fuck out of PUBG knowing that they likely won't be the round winner. This is a similar formula, but instead of dying and being completely out after investing 10-20 minutes per round, you are still in the game and get to play as an alien. In avp2 survivor, playing as bug was fun.

Zoo Tycoon but you're a Yutani xeno science director for a black site lab. You have a host of peons to order around and mercs you can send to capture aliens and add them to your perpetually upgrading lab and do experiments to make make cool variants and breeding experimentation. The aliens can also break out as a fail state.

I've also wanted this for Resident Evil where you do the same shit as an Umbrella director.

There are no NPCs. You start with 100 players on a big ass facility map. There are multiple main objectives and a multitude of optional XP objectives. The first player that falls into one of the many non-player traps, mutates into an alien and all other traps are disabled. This alien player has infinite lives. whoever he kills turns into an alien. This shit quickly snowballs and the situation goes from comfy bros laughing in VC and completing objectives to genuine bonafide terror as the alien presence increases as alien players kill marines, and the last few survivors are cowering behind cargo boxes watching their motion trackers light up with mass globs of movement all around them (player aliens in hunter killer mode), unable to complete the mission due to fear. Again, the marines are not expected to survive.

VC is limited to team only and post match lobby while waiting for players for next match + 1-5 min timer until next match.
