Now that the dust has settled, is it worth playing Silksong?
yessome people cry because it doesn't play exactly like hollow knight but the game gives you a plethora of tools to handle literally everything, such rewarding exploration it made going back to hollow knight or even symphony of the night kind of impossible
yea, great game. tons of content
>>737722782Keep your non-virgin mandibles away from me
>>737722871>plethora of tools to handle literally everythingthat cost a resource you may have to grind>such rewarding explorationact 1 is linear as fuck and the areas don't blend as well as they did on HK, act 3 is a fetch quest mostly on areas you already saw beforestill worth playing, act 2 was pure ludo
>>737723148>multiple routes (far fields for drifters cloak, wormways door to shellwood, flea caravan to greymoor etc)>entirely optional or secret areas (hunters march, getting sent to the slab, etc)>discoverable alternate path into act 2How is act 1 linear?
They should have added more special tool interaction / synergies. Would have been fun to experiment trying to figure them out, and could have potentially made the less useful early game tools useful again in the lategame if they had some good synergies with tools you find later.
>>737723148>Act 1 is linear You must fucking suck at exploring if you think that
>>737724827I'm upset that the Flintslate interaction with charged attacks was nerfed
For the price alone yes.The game hits its peak in Act 2. Act 1 is mediocre point A to B tutorial spam with enemies dealing more damage than they should unless they nerfed it since launch idk. Act 3 is abysmally bad, total buzzkill from the enjoyment of Act 2. Act 2 thankfully takes up around 65% of the games runtime and ultimately saves it from being a black sheep sequel.
>>737724352>(far fields for drifters cloak, vanilla path>wormways door to shellwood, requires money which is very scarce early on>flea caravan to greymoor etc)don't they only go to each subsequent place once you find and clear it up?>>entirely optional or secret areas (hunters march, minor tough skip and only leads you back to the vanilla route>getting sent to the slab, etc)can this happen before you activate act 2?>>discoverable alternate path into act 2the phantom path is neat but that's it, I wish you could get there from groal too
>>737722782Silksong filtered so many FOTMtards that got swept up in the hype >"Do you have to play Hollow Knight first? I want to play Silksong because everybody on social media is talking about it, I don't want to feel left out!">Proceeds to get filtered by Last Judge
>>737725498>don't they only go to each subsequent place once you find and clear it up?No in fact moving the caravan early blocks the Moorwing fight in act 1.>can this happen before you activate act 2I believe you just need cling grip.
>>737723148trvke>>737724352act 1 is definitely more railroaded. There are ways to skip forward but ultimately the path to act 2 will boil down to two linear paths. You can technically skip some stuff but thats just silly, like spending more money in exchange of. skipping drifters cloak lol
Yeah. It's a fine game
>>737722782Yes it's a good game>$20 to get 100 hours of content (not including the future DLCs which like Hollow Knight will be free)
Do you like dying over and over again to cheap one-off traps and arcade difficulty with none of the upside but just for the sake of it instead of having fun?
>>737722782yeah prepare to gitgud tholike there's just a moment in the game where you have to do it, you've got to gitgudlucky for me it came when i found the first sinner fight in act 2. hard fight, but no run back. perfect for gittinggud.
>>737727117Git gud
Hornetbros...
>>737726816The game is pretty bloated. You could cut at least 40% of the "content" and the game would be better for it
>>737722782I think as a game SS is objectively better but HK was a more memorable experience for me overall. Mostly comes down to Act 3 being kinda underwhelming, I like the concept of it but execution wise it's just a boss rush
