Why did Earthworm Jim fail?
>>
abe's odyssey without the soul
>>
there's so much gaming slop that ultimately fails it's probably retarded or something
>>
the gameplay just sucks

The creator is too based.

Its whole thing was being odd while at the same time that worked against it. Each level was pretty much a different game altogether so all you learned previously didn't matter by the next level.

Inconsistent gameplay and really hard level design made for a frustrating experience for kids which is what he was aimed at. I honestly liked the cartoon show far better than the games which is what Earthworm Jim should have always been from the start. The games felt more like the studio wanting to show off various tech demos and slapped it all together as Earthworm Jim.

Missed its era. Too weird and gross. Shitty gameplay with shittier levels. Cool character design and world concept though. Like anon said, better as a tv show.

First game was fine. It was an action platformer with gimmick levels but for the most part it was consistent. Earthworm Jim 2 was just trash the entire fucking time.

Also, gotta love how Tommy Tallerico takes full credit for the game's soundtrack.
