Maybe because you only played the remake? In the OG the red9 feels like fucking SEX to use. Everything about it, from firing it, to reloading it, is flawless, the best gun ever made in a video game. The remake doesn’t make you stick your lips out like the original does. Shame they botched it so hard, but what can you expect from nu-Crapcum, they’re too busy running gang bangs on that ugly tranny YouTuber and making the cutscenes appeal to foids

The OG red9 feels great but it's actually inferior to the blacktail for several reasons that most players dont realize until you get really autistic. It took me 10 years to finally come around and admit the blacktail is better.

The extra damage per bullet the red9 does compared to the blacktail only matters when it takes less bullets. Because ganados are low HP this rarely happens, The "break points" of HP amounts result in the redkill wasting a lot of the excess damage. when they stay in pace with each other's upgrades there are many instances where they both take the same number of shots, some where the r9 saves 1 bullet, very few where it saves you 2 or more bullets. Things like critical strikes, explosives, and melee setups all require only 1 shot anyways which is often what your handgun is used for.

For ammo, RE4 throws handgun ammo at you as long as you have less than 80 HG bullets in your case. This doesn't include what's in your gun. Since the BT can hold more in its magazine, you can have more total bullets while still staying under the 80 that triggers the excess drops, so ammo conservation for handguns doesn't matter. Add in the fact that the BT takes up less space and its the winner. The DPS and handling are just the icing on the cake.

I also doubt the majority of your kind is even old enough to have nostalgia be the main factor.

t. 39 and been playing RE since the franchise existed and I still think the remakes are much better experiences overall
