Yeah. I don't get how anyone can actually play through these games. It's so slice-of-life that I blank out during the dialogue.

Yes. Just know that the main gameplay mechanic is the crafting and preparation; battle execution is fairly simple once you've made your items.
The older games have simpler crafting but have time management elements to deal with too.
