What makes it strong is a focus on role-agnostic gameplay and fast rotations between lanes. The movement and shooter elements enable this, but by themselves, they're trash, and for as much as they enable, they also inherently warp other aspects of the game around them and for the worst. Making gunplay exist in the same ecosystem as spell slinging abilities has brought nothing but misfortune and ruin to anyone that's a fan either styles of gameplay, as both have had to suffer for each others' sins.You could totally make a different MOBA that doesn't have the same movement as Deadlock but still brings forth those ideas, and end up much better for it.
