I think Shenmue 3 deserve another chance
Perhaps Sega might give 20 million dollars to the poor director make at least a proper Shenmue game before he dies. Like Shenmue in modern Hong Kong similar to Sleeping Dogs

makes me sad that they aren't bundling Shenmue 3 with 1 & 2. I am totally getting 3 on Switch 2. My idea for the series would be to remake 1 - 3 as a single game, and then just make one more new game to finish it. Call those Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2.

Did you miss that they're doing an Enhanced Edition.

HUD obsession is autism it's literally irrelevant

1 and 2 have very slow progression.. most people will find them boring. Let's face it the pace of Shenmue 1 and 2 is not for everyone. You need to be patient and have focus to enjoy it, most people can't afford 4 straight hours of silence and concentration
1 and 2 are ideal for neets who can play late at night or in the early mornings of sunday and then go to sleep the entire day

I'm buying for the 60fps. Similar to Kiwami 2 and 3, those games are literally games I'll replay 10 to 15 years from now
>>
>>737737030
3 is the same way though, just don't play Shenmue if you're that dopamine starved.
>>

>60fps
Did the original Shenmue 3 not have 60 fps?
t. only played Shenmue 1 and 2
>>
Doesn't matter. As of right now there still needs to be six games made to reach the ending.
>>
>>737737221
no 3 has a different pace, it doesnt require you to walk around too much and pay attention to small details in your notes, etc.
Also better visuals. My 12 year old nephew would never be able to play Shenmue 1,2 and 3. He can focus on Spider Man, Fortnite or Dragon Ball Kakarot, but anything that requires a little more concentration he cant handle it.

I think boomers should stop embarrassing themselves by making this dinosaur shit and just teach youngsters how to make good games instead.

shenmue 3 is 30fps on PS4 and PS4Pro, thankfully I only played 2 hours I knew sooner or later they would release on PS5
>>
I tried so hard to enjoy shenmue 1, I love exploration and heavy atmosphere in games. But the game is just shit. It's just shit.
>>
actually Shenmue 3 is uncapped on Ps4pro, 45 to 55 fps the main issue when I played was the noise though
PS5 is super silent my day 1 PS5 is fucking silent even on summer. PS4Pro was so loud it really breaks the point if playing late at night when everything is quiet

>Similar to Kiwami 2
60 FPS on K2 breaks multiple things like Toylets (Which is now very difficult due to the 60 FPS and they barely fixed it at all because they did a slapdash fix instead of what Silent Patch did) and the entire physics engine because DE games are not meant to be played over 30 FPS. I haven't heard of 60 FPS breaking anything on K3 but visually every version that's not the PS4 version is objectively worse.

Leaving aside the reality that they can't do that because of how hard it would be to get SEGA on board with it; the failure to even allow your save file from the Shenmue Remasters to interact with Shenmue 3 is actually such a huge disrespect and failure for the players.

Part of Shenmue's original promise of being a multi-game narrative adventure really hinged on that personalized save file following you through game to game, and it makes everything you do and see in Shenmue that much more important. Yes, I know it'd be hard to get SEGA to allow them to keep stuff like Sonic in the game but without it you've lost your personal connection to the adventure.

And yeah I'm sure that if Shenmue 4 eventuates that it would have this - but losing 1/2 when the remasters exist is pretty rough.

Isn't it five? I swear I recently watched a YouTube vid made by one of those Shenmue fanatics saying that Yu Suzuki has stated he needs 5 games to complete the story.
So, two more.

>personalized save file following you through game to game
This, it really drives home how Shenmue really was made for the Dreamcast (despite starting as a Saturn game), given the nature of the VMUs.
>>
It's time make a Shenmue Omnibus that tells the story from start to finish and takes 300 hours to finish.
Tell Nagoshi to make it, he's experienced with handling big budgets lmao :^)

Kiwami 2 on PS5 is inferior to the PS4 version? Yakuza 0 ran at a smooth 60fps on PS4 and PS4Pro and they worked on Kiwami 2 at the same time as Yakuza 6 but Yakuza Kiwami has much nicer graphics than Yakuza 6
Anyway I think the issue is illumination that is probably caused by PS5 Pro trying to enhance the title
Turn the auto enhance feature off

>Yakuza 0 ran at a smooth 60fps on PS4
0 was not only a PS3 port, but they specifically addressed the 60 FPS issues with Ishin when porting it to the PS4 so that future games after it (Specifically 0, K1, and FotNS) wouldn't have as many issues. Even then Ishin has issues in karaoke and fan dancing due to the 60 FPS. If you play the PS3 version on RPCS3 and use the settings that allow it to run at 60 FPS you can see how heavily it breaks not only minigames but combat meaning they have to fix it manually.

With regards to Dragon Engine games (That is, 6, K2, JE, 7, LJ, 7G, 8, 8G, and likely StH) they were never intended to be played past 30 FPS. They introduce issues to physics like enemies flying significantly farther when you hit them or sliding on the ground when they fall, break games that revolve around it (Virtua Fighter 2 is an example but the PS5 version of K2 addressed that specifically, Toylets was then doing a half-fix to it but doesn't fix it and it's much harder than PS4 because of it), and do weird stuff like
>JER drone racing can break and using the drone in general can break plus side cases sometimes don't have the characters spawn so you need to save and reload. Lockpicking also sometimes doesn't work properly.
>7G has timer issues in the coliseum making them harder than they're supposed to be along with Pocket Racer being completely impossible above 60 and way harder at 60 to the point of you needing different builds than the 30 FPS PS4 version because the cars fly off the track due to the higher framerate.
I believe 7 and 8 also still have the physics issue at 60 FPS but they're negligible due to being JRPGs.

>Anyway I think the issue is illumination that is probably caused by PS5 Pro trying to enhance the title
No. PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox all look like that with or without HDR. I don't even own a PS5 Pro because it's mostly a downgrade to the PS5 or barely improved it compared to the PS4 Pro. Only the PS4 has the correct lighting.
