I have bought Basilisk V3 Pro, like month ago? Still amaze myself how in the hell i have managed all this time (25years+ of gaming) without wireless mouse.
IT'S SOO SMOOTH and FREE FEELING.
I also bought shitty huntsman v3 pro TKL analog, still have problems with adapting to these sensitive keys, but it's okay i guess when you change settings.
Don't feel shame that i have fall into razer trap.

I recently replaced the switches on my chinkslop MMO mouse (got it in November 2016, so 9 years old), soldering in new ones. Works fine now despite it being old.

I don't mind getting something new, if this one dies for another reason, but the rebind scripts have me over a barrel. If I get a different one I'l have to remap the extra 12 buttons across all the programs and games I've alraedy created. I'm more liable to just get the same one I got in 2016. Just checked and the model is still available, shieet.

Used to be that I'd buy a cheap mouse and be able to use it for years despite abusing the fuck out of them gaming. But now this year alone I've gone through a few mice already because they can barely go a month without starting to double click randomly

My razer viper(wired) still works. Only thing fucky right now is the mouse wheel scrolling up and down every once in a while. But a spray of contact cleaner usually fixes it.

The problem now are the scroll wheels.

clean your filthy dead skin covered mouse
>>
Just buy a mouse that's easy to modify into changing mouse switches
I do solder these anyways, but now logitech mice usually have hotswap boards on aliexpress, you grab one of those, put some huanos in there and there you go. You can even put silent mouse switches in there.
The only mouse I have that died pretty quickly to where the switches being good wouldn't solve any problems was the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed. Trashiest mouse. Shape is great and that's pretty much all about it. Took a while to wake up, had connectivity issues, there was no onboard memory manager so you had to install razer spyware... eventually it just stopped working altogether.

Fuck this piece of shit for peeling trash "leather" all over my room.
Anyway, I just went straight to audiophile stuff afterwards, started cheap and basic with the hd650s
Need to get a modmic or some other external mic though

>>737752664
Honestly a lot of headphones will have the same problem. I suggest you look for pads for any headphones that have actual leather on them (from aliexpress instead of buying them from jewkoni)

when I replaced the left and right mouse switces on my chinkslop MMO mouse (posted earlier), I also dis-assembled it and put everything in the dishwasher minus the parts that shouldn't.

Put the small parts inside that plastic rectangle holding the knives and forks. Came out all good.

You can even dishwash your mousemat, I have some basic bitch dollar mousemat and it came out fine. I actually wanted it destroyed so I have an excuse to get a new mousemat so took the risk, but it wants to stay with me.

i had the hyperx cloud 2 until it finally crapped itself after 10 years. however i wanted a wireless headset to replace it and found out that there were very few decent options and all pretty expensive. i went for the astro a50s on a sale and they turned out to be very good. they sound better than the average cheapo studio headphones in the 100-150€ range, and the microphone is very nice for a headset, like pretty close to my 100€ condensor mic, so i just tend to use the headset mic now. so in the end it was expensive but had good value.

i find getting studio headphones to be a crapshoot. like i guess they are relatively inexpensive and theoretically the audio is good, but they're not really meant for your normal gaming/music needs. i always had to fuck with the audio to make them sound nice instead of weirdly sharp or otherwise uncomfortable. however the astro a50s felt natural on the first listening, like very close to the hyperx cloud 2s in terms of profile. it seems like the whole discussion over headsets and headphones is completely fucked up by redditor audiophiles repeating their usual maxims like "uhhh headsets are trash bro get these BossaNova EEDGK2316 studio headphones they're amazing" said by some guy who has tried exactly one pair of
>>
just bought a logitech superlight x or whateverthe fuck

>>
I bought the "ATK Dragonfly A9 Plus V2 Wireless" mouse like a month ago to replace my old Logitech G Pro. It's almost the exact same grip and so far I'm not dissatisfied with my purchase. Clicks feel slightly heavier and the software that you can optionally install with it is not intrusive (although I block all internet connections from and to it)

I'll see if it survives this year

>>737754110
deathadder has a horrible shape. it's from an era of mouse design when everything was made with a big gay hump to accommodate a wrong desk height.

if you liked the g502's shape, get a logitech superlight (about the same profile) or a razer viper (slightly lower profile). the razer viper v2 pro is my favorite mouse but atm it seems like razer is really testing how much they can charge for their viper v3s and v4s so i'd avoid getting one unless you can get it for cheap
>>
I dread the day my G502 dies. Logitech went to shit and every other mouse manufacturer sold me garbage before. I don't want to roll the dice again.

>>737742643
My logitech g400s is dying, what's the closest thing to a successor?
>>
>>737754314
They're both pretty damn expensive but I found a refurbed pro x superlight 2. Those grips are plastic and not rubber, right? It's hard to tell from the images but I might cancel the order and switch to that one. I liked the profile of the 502 so I'll probably cancel the order on the deathadder and go with the superlight instead, thanks

>>
>>737754617

>>
>>737754519
probably like a Logitech MX518 repro but really, no gaming mouse company really makes mice like that anymore because the industry has largely moved on to lighter, lower profile ambi mice, and for good reason, because they are simply better and strain your hand/wrist less, especially during gaming

if you are not poverty gaming then i would just get a logitech superlight and see if you can get used to it. after like a month of using it, the G400 will probably feel pretty awful to go back to
>>
>>737754431
why are all you boomers still using logishit, this is the age of chinesium

>buy mouse from benq
>starts randomly double clicking one month before warranty ends
>spend like an hour getting a recording of it happening because they require one and it only happens sporadically
>the terms of the warranty state that if their Highly Skilled Technicians don't notice the problem, they'll just ship it back to me, and if it gets damaged in shipping I'm screwed
>if they do notice it they'll send me a refurb mouse
why even have a warranty? these terms are awful

yeah i think thats the only case where warranty really works. if you can physically show up to your local retailer and be like "this thing is fucking busted give me a new one NOW" then they will help you. but sending emails to some chinese company in zhezhung and trying to hold them up to their word is basically useless because they can just ignore and annoy you with ridiculous terms or stipulations until you give up

>>737755985
if you're coming from palm gripping some big ass mouse then you do have to prepare for the fact that modern gaming mice aren't really made to be held like that.

i used to be a palm grip kinda guy but nowadays i use a pic related way of gripping my razer viper. i basically rest my entire hand on the mouse and move it around like that, which is manageable because the mouse is low profile and light. it did take a while to get used to it but it feels infinitely better that way. when i actually play games then i switch between holding the mouse by my knuckles and finger grip depending on what i'm doing
>>
>>737756823
is this like the in-ear monitor thing on /g/ where thirdies larp as consumers by buying $15 crap on alibaba
>>
>>737757159
NTA. I also have a viper. The way I hold mine is a hybrid of finger tip and knuckle. Tips are gripping and manipulating the mouse itself, hardly and wrist movement. Side buttons get clicked by their respective knuckles.
>>
>>737757863
yea thats kinda what i do in shooters. i usually hold it by the knuckle and then i switch over to finger grip when i need to really make a pinpoint shot. it really is a great shape for how versatile it is.

I can corroborate with the A50's. Very expensive but super happy with mine after my hyperx just became too damaged. Only complaint with the A50 thus far is the dock has charging contacts; Lots of times I have to shift it around to make sure it can charge.
>>
>>737758125
Another feature I like about it is that the DPI button is on the bottom, so you're not accidentally changing it in the heat of the moment. I will say though, I should've just saved the ten bucks or whatever and gotten the wired version. The battery only lasts like 3 days and after maybe a month I just turned it off, took the dongle out and keep it wired 100% of the time. At least I have the option to use it wireless if I ever need to use it on a different machine, I guess.

how many is enough? i understand that razer used to be shit but i've owned a couple in the past 5 years and they were much better than the other brands of mice that i owned in the same time span.
i only replaced my razer naga trinity because the faceplates would sometimes disconnect randomly but that just required cleaning the contacts so it was much less annoying than double clicking or scroll wheel issues.
