>From the creators of [GOOD GAME]>comes [BAD GAME]Why does this always happen?
>>737743878It's not as bad as some pretend it is.
The more people on a team, the less each person individually contributes to the final output.
>>737743931Lack of upgrades kills it. You always end up with your dudes casting willpower spells to fire da gun again and again.
>>737744082Yeah as I kept playing I never felt like my troops were getting stronger per-se. Everything felt like horizontal progression.>this gun does 10% more damage per shot but has 20% less ammoJust constant shit like that.Meanwhile the enemies scale up in power more directly, so you're left fewer "viable" solutions to combat encounters as time goes on.
>>737744082>>737744232The real upgrades you get are from getting troops with the correct classes and skills that create insane synergies with each other. The equipment system is completely fucked in this game. I'm not a big fan of this type of game balance. In X-COM troops are supposed to be expendable because their equipment does a lot of heavy lifting.
is just marketing. hey ya guys we have this one past retirement age guy who was one fo the poeple who worked at da original xcom.we keep him in the cells down at the basement so he doesn't cause problems. he has his jigsaw puzzles to keep him busy no worries
>>737743878Transition from 2D to 3D is hard.
>>737744335>In X-COM troops are supposed to be expendableLol, you definitely aren't talking about the nu-Xcoms. You need soldiers with skills, like the squadsight snipers.Try Xenonauts 2, though. You're expected to take casualties in that game.
>>737744232I fixed that pretty hard by using mods. Don't say any x-com game doesn't need at least a few mods. The mod that lets you combine any mechanical and bio augmentations is fun.
>>737743878>From the creators of [Bad Game]>here comes [Good Game]did that ever happen?
Good games are born out of excruciating pressure and restraints. Take away bad business man and everything goes to shit.
>>737744429>Lol, you definitely aren't talking about the nu-XcomsI'm not, that's called XCOM. X-COM or rather UFO as it was known in Europe is the one I'm talking about. The problem I mentioned is a trend that started with the XCOM games.
>>737744475Konami when they first made MGS1, I guess.
>>737744475Cod devs making Titanfall
>>737744475sonic adventure 2
The studios are like the Ship of Theseus; the tracks change a little more each year. The people who had the talent are no longer there.
>>737745032the final redpill is that titanfall is bad. we only play it because every other movment shooter is dead
>>737744475>did that ever happen?yep.>From the creators of [Half-Life]>here comes [Left 4 Dead]
>>737744475Yes, from dark soul to sekiro
>>737744475From the creators of Daikatana...
>>737745669Romero is going to make you his bitch and then some Dude Sex.
>>737745669Not by the people who made Daikatana thougheverbeit.
>>737744475>From the creators of Devil May Cry 2
>>737745814The people who made 3 were literally just brought in at the last sedond to finish up 2 though.
>>737744475Rambo the Video Game to Terminator Resistance and Robocop Rouge City
A more recent one, made by the lead designer of Piranha Bytes and his wife who drove the company into the ground.People consider it the latest Gollum-like, if not way worse, and even former PB members played it and asked what the hell they were thinking and how someone with 25 years of experience in gamemaking could release something like this.Hell, the game is so bad that the preorder numbers of the games by other former PB devs went up because it turned out THEY were the competent ones.
