If you focus in on any one aspect, like the parkour or combat, then yeah it’s been surpassed (the combat was bad and outdated even when it came out. However Sands of Time is still, in many ways, the ultimate movie game. It has an elegant simplicity to its mechanic. It knows how to lean into its spectacle without overindulging in it. It’s phenomenally paced and does not overstay it’s welcome. In short it’s a game that’s greater than the sum of its parts and I wish more movie games were designed like it instead of 25 hour long pseudo-HBO slopfests with useless gear systems.

>>737744676I honestly don't think so. Its a rare example to me of an action based game that is probably perfect 10/10. Its not a game I went back to constantly to playthrough but I did beat it at least twice from my memory. Its just a really solid game all around with no true flaws. By the time the game might start to feel like its repetitive its pretty much done since its a short game.
