>Spiritual successor to Daggerfall, aiming to revive the "old-school" open-world design philosophies of 1990s RPGs>Created by the original leads of Daggerfall>The game world is an archipelago spanning over 500,000 square kilometers, with over 100 islands, featuring hundreds of cities and thousands of NPCs.>Similar to tabletop RPGs, the game uses a system to dynamically create quests and stories tailored to the player's skills, reputation, and previous actions.>You can create any class, join complex warring factions, buy ships, and influence the world's politicsHave you taken the Wayward Pill yet anon?
>>737746110This game is still years off unfortunately
>>737746110>the "old-school" open-world design philosophies of 1990s RPGsWhat, automatically generating way too much terrain that no one wants to traverse?
>>737746165>>737746183Lmao the game releases on June. Suck it haters.
>>737746110So it's Starfield with swords, got it
>>737746110Sounds like it will be Elite Dangerous if he boat
>>737746276it does?
>>737746330It's not you idiot. These are the creators of Daggerfall, not modern day Bethesda.
>>737746349Yeah my first thought was it's clearly not an RPG, it's just one of the many space sims but in fantasy land instead. Stuff like Star Traders Frontiers
>>737746360Early Access comes in June, yes.
>>737746463So the release is still years off, got it
>>737746369Julian LeFay died last year. This isn't made by original devs anymore.
>>737746463Ya that's not full release my guy
>>737746110I'm open to the concept of 'Daggerfall but actually good'.
>>737746534>Julian LeFay died last year.Holy fuck it's true it's over...
>>737746534why are they even bothering continuing it
>>737746534They're broke btw! The dev team is full of volunteers kek
I'll believe it when I see it.I've been following it for years and while what they've said is interesting, until I can watch a couple of hours of uncut and untailored footage I'm not buying. They're leaning too hard into being the leads of Daggerfall and Arena. Developing 30 year old games doesn't translate into a modern experience. Their credentials are meaningless in convincing me the gameplay will be fun.
>>737747060I get it you weren't around zoomie but those games are pretty much legendary.
>>737746717>Just throw out all the work Julian did, it's overno, that's stupid
>>737747209would be better than releasing some half assed slop in his name, but i hope im proven wrong
>>737747181And a trebuchet was legendary in taking down castles, did they use trebuchets in the Napoleonic wars? No they used modern equipment for modern results.Their entire boast is about leading games 30 years ago, what have they done since? Why aren't they using them to boast? What game can I play today, by them, that will give me a glimpse into what they can do, that isn't 3 decades old? If such games exist why don't they mention them?Maybe dementia is setting in for you anon, maybe you're a fat ass millennial that "doesn't do sport" and it's caused brain degradation but it was only 5 months ago that Titanfall was used to promote Highguard.Which is funny because at least the Titanfall developers claim actually had more merit, given it wasn't banking on 30 years in the past.
>>737747353that's a lot of words to say "i'm autistic", anon
>>737747353Titanfall and Daggerfall are not in the same realm, like at all.
>>737747581Autism is when you can write a few coherent sentences.
>>737747687You are a retard. Ask AI to analyse what I said you fucking spastic and help you understand where you went wrong.I didn't compare Titanfall or Daggerfall at all, I compared the merit of the developers using their past experience to promote their new games. I said the Highguard developers calling back to developing Titanfall has more merit than Wayward Realms calling back to Daggerfall.
>>737746110>Created by the original leads of DaggerfallIf anything this is a massive red flag and not a selling point.
>>737747745Uh oh anon having a meltie~
>>737746110>>The game world is an archipelago spanning over 500,000 square kilometers, with over 100 islands, featuring hundreds of cities and thousands of NPCs.>>Similar to tabletop RPGs, the game uses a system to dynamically create quests and stories tailored to the player's skills, reputation, and previous actions. That sounds fucking terrible.God just give me more tightly designed maps full of intend and purpose liked Avowed instead of more empty seed generated slop.
>>737746110Sounds like shit. It'll be procedural generation garbage with no meaning. Table top games suck. "From the creators of" is one of the biggest red flags for an upcoming game.
LOL
>>737746110>"old-school" open-world design philosophies of 1990s RPGsPlease explain this.Yes I'm interest but what is the different between old-school and the current one we have.
>>737747581>>737747802Another thread by newfagGPT, sasuga
>>737747898Dear god... Where is this from???
>>737746110>Created by the original leads of gameWhere have i seen this same sales pitch before and how do i know the game will be trash
1) modern games that hype up "made by the guys who made [90s game you liked]!" have a zero percent track record of being good.2) People already complained about Elden Ring being too fucking big, no one wants to explore a bajillion, gorillian square miles of empty space.
>>737747802Meltdown is when you dumb down and reiterate so that a retard can try to understand what you wrote.
>>737746110>Not even in early access yetCall me when we get some actual hands-on gameplay. Until then, shove your hype down your throat.
>>737746463Well, that's not release.
>>737746534He never did work on it
>>737746534See>>737747898
I'm casually optimistic about this slop
