A custom one.
Literally, find the nearest best reviewed wood workers in whatever nation you're from.
Take measurements of the space you want to have your PC and shit.
Start making a sketch on a piece of paper in terms of width, height, angles, rounded edges and positions, approximate height and depth based on your chair and leg length, you can also figure out a leg rest and how high the undertable cavity should go for the arm rests of your chair at its highest elevation if it's a gas piston office chair. You can also angle the table for easier writing and drawing if that's your thing, round the edges and corners to avoid cuts and wounds, add stopwalls on the edge of the angled table to stop shit in its place from sliding off it, get an additional desk surface on top for monitors carried by normal 90 degree pillars, you can pick and choose where holes can be drilled at what circumference for cables, or additional holes for monitor hands and mounts if you wanna go that way; and besides all of that you can sketch where you want drawers and cabinets, in what way, how they should open up and slide out, or if you want revolving cabinets, take your pick; and the type of wood and protection lacquer or whatever you want.
That's the best way to go with it.
Sketch away, take it to wood workers, they can help perfect it into an actual properly calculated design with suggestions on cabinets, hole enforcement or monitor arm enforcement areas, and make that bitch.

I kinda wish I had one of those desks that can be raised up and down so I can stand while working or, even better, place a walking pad under/in front of it.
Instead I've got just a big ass corner desk, that's a bit too low, since like 15 years.

Before you do anything else, check your local Goodwill and other thrift stores. Also with rising temperatures, look for yard sales, estate slaes, etc.
Also you can post wanted ads and tell friends and family you're in the market for a cheap desk.

A sit/stand motorized desk that is a minimum of 70"x30" but ideally deeper if you can afford it. They go for between 150-350 bucks if you shop non-big brands on Amajew and are all pretty much the same shit. My desk is an autonomous.ai sit/stand desk from like 13 years ago and still works. Paid about 500 tho (74"x36") and my wife has a VIVO 70"x30" that we paid about 200 for 5 years ago. Both work great. The only issue with cheap desks is you'd want to run the motor at least once a month (up and down) so the oil doesn't settle and cause it to seize.
Here is a nice dual motor one at 71"x32" for 240: https://www.amazon.com/SANODESK-Standing-Height-Adjustable-Electric/dp/B0DSBZVHHN
And a nice L shaped desk (only 28.3" deep) desk for 230: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DTQ6Q7YM
You can definitely go cheaper. If you NEED cheaper I would recommend shopping sales, setup a price alert on Slickdeals.net
Good luck anon.

I mean whatever makes ya happy. Wood is never getting cheaper so if you can afford a nice butcherblock go for it. Personally I don't care that much about the quality of my tabletop so long as it can hold the weight I need which even my shitty 80 dollar 60x30" desk in my home office (for remote work) can. None of the three sit-stand desks I own wobble or creak. By all means tho if you can afford expensive go for it.

Can your Honda Civic carry 3 pieces of 4x8 plywood? If so make your own. Desks are easy to make; two top pieces, one on each side, use a backing board, have a piece of wood in the middle to connect and hold the two top pieces. Nail/screw everything together.

Can't cut due to no saw? Lowes can cut it for you. Can't measure due to no measuring tape or ruler? Use string/shoelaces and mark it on that.

The wood will set you back about $75.
100 count wood screws -- which is the least they sell -- will set you back $16.
Screwdriver, like $5 if you don't have one.

So about $100 total for an actual wood desk. From there you can either paint it or, more cheaply, get peel and stick laminate or contact paper. Like $10-$15 for that.

Fair enough. Though your desk shouldn't be jabbing your wrist. Does it have some kind of lip around the parameter like a tabletop gaming desk or something?
If it is a flat tabletop and you're having issues like that it is something that can be solved with a standing desk since the height is adjustable. For proper posture (think about your back health while you're young, trust me, I'm an old fag and waited a little too long) your forearms should be just barely touching the tabletop at a 90 degree angle from your torso while sitting up-right with relaxed shoulders. Your eyes should rest at either dead center of your display (my preference) or just above the center of the display (what the american back health institution suggests). In this format it shouldn't be possible to hit your wrists on anything...

how much money do you have? if it not much then look for second had desks. they are normally built to last and people will sell them for cheap.
>>
>>737768871
It's more of a question of timing and opportunity. Either you would have to rent it before traveling around to years sales, potentially losing money if you don't find good furniture, or luck into finding furniture before you go rent, which could result in it being sold before you can get back.
Also my Civic doesn't have a tow hitch.

>>737770923
I doubt I could fit even that inside. I don't think the interior dimensions would accommodate it, and even if they did, there wouldn't be a viable angle to get it inside. Unless you're thinking of strapping it to the roof or something, in which case I don't think I'd make it home without being pulled over.
That said, I've been toying with the idea of building (or assembling, more accurately) one for a while. I've seen nice looking wood slabs I could have delivered and there's plenty of metal leg hardware available on Amazon. I'm a bit worried that route won't result in a stable desk if I try for something sizable, though, since it wouldn't have skirting and whatnot. I don't have the experience to know if racking would be an issue over a 6' span, for example.

yeah i could raise my chair a little bit i guess, or maybe its the chair that doesnt let me align it perfectly for it to not be irritating but sitting at my desk all day and its a straight 90 degree angle on the corner where your wrists rest is so uncomfortable . all they had to do was smooth the corner

I have something like an L desk (not exactly pic related but very similar).
My problem with these is that they're not deep. They're weirdly designed so you don't use the corner, but I do anyways. This introduces another problem: I can't comfortably put my PC on the floor. It takes space on the desk. Sometimes I wonder if it'd be more comfortable to just use a normal desk I can use that allows me to further separate myself from the monitor.

L desks are based. I hate when a computer desk only has enough room for the computer and keyboard. It's nice to have an empty spot for shit.
>>
>>737775401
That's admittedly a bit of a pisser, but if you're looking for a steeper angle, you could always get stick-on foldable laptop feet at least. If you want a gentler angle, well you're kinda hosed unless you're fine with low-profile keys.
