If it is a flat tabletop and you're having issues like that it is something that can be solved with a standing desk since the height is adjustable. For proper posture (think about your back health while you're young, trust me, I'm an old fag and waited a little too long) your forearms should be just barely touching the tabletop at a 90 degree angle from your torso while sitting up-right with relaxed shoulders. Your eyes should rest at either dead center of your display (my preference) or just above the center of the display (what the american back health institution suggests). In this format it shouldn't be possible to hit your wrists on anything...

I have something like an L desk (not exactly pic related but very similar).My problem with these is that they're not deep. They're weirdly designed so you don't use the corner, but I do anyways. This introduces another problem: I can't comfortably put my PC on the floor. It takes space on the desk. Sometimes I wonder if it'd be more comfortable to just use a normal desk I can use that allows me to further separate myself from the monitor.
