The last and only MonHun I played before World was the first on PS2, and in that game armor wasn't really an option, you had to dress yourself as optimally as possible or else you would get DUNKED in the most shameful way possibleBut in World? I can actually SLUTMAXX my character and I can still beat the monsters. This game is way better, and while the start was awful with the nearly 45 minutes of cutscenes and dialog, it reallly gets fun when you go past that

Most of the weapons are generic bone/iron and most of the armor is ugly just like the game itself. Also, you don't need armor skills to beat most of the content in any recent game. That's doable even in older games, MH1 was just jank and unpolished because it was their first attempt. If you care about fashion, games have had layered armor since GU (technically Frontier) so you can have both good armor skills and a good armor design.
