Now that the dust has settled what's the /v/erdict?seems more like a bunch of stuff prototyped for botw that just didn't make it into the first game
>>737789486Playing it now and it’s really good, this is how Zelda games should be going forward.
>>737789486>Dude, what if we just stretched this DLC idea out into an entire game and charge $10 more for it?>Dude, what if we just made another technologically advanced lost civilization with shrines that come up from underground and not explain what happened to the one from BotW?>Dude, what if the great Imprisoning War mentioned in ALttP was just a goat-man sealing Ganon under the BotW castle?>Dude, what if we just reused the entire map and the exact same story structure/presentation from BotW?>Bro....
>>737789486It's an expansion sold at full price.
>>737789486people got filtered despite it being the generational game everyone told me BOTW was. Mainline story is ass but most Zelda games have a nothing story and its made up for by having the good towns and sidequests you'd expect from a Zelda. That being said if the next game has shrines again and the enemies get bloated health bars 20 hours in I'm gonna be mad.
>>737790658>generational gamenot even the most deluded tendie believe this
>>737789486I enjoyed it, but I didn't play BOTW so it was a completely new game for me. I overall feel it's a worse direction over the more hand crafted and focused style before it (Although Skyward Sword was the opposite extreme of being a very narrow hallway the entire game) because it only had a handful of times it really felt "Great", two being an approach you couldn't avoid, the approach to the wind temple was amazing, as the score rises with you until you finally jump in, since it's too high/far to cheese your way in (At least, without trying very hard), and the final descent to Ganondorf, as the score builds while you tumble through the tunnels. Both times basically go against the rest of the game of freeform approach, and it's peak because of it, and I hope they understand and do more of that in the future.
>>737790658Shrines were my favorite part of the game. Nix the combat shrines, and give me the puzzle shrines, I'll take 1000 of them.
>>737789662 , If nintendo doesn't want me to buy them.Ftfy
>>737789486I played most mainline zelda games and I liked it a lot, just as I liked botw. Different enough to set itself apart in my opinion and I didn't mind having the same map foundation at all. Kino ending segment.

Tears as a 40 dollar DLC released in 2019>Wow this is coolTears as a 70 dollar game released in 2023>Wow this is shitIts that simple.
>>737789486TOTK with dungeons that are bigger and designed more heavily around linear gear progression throughout the game would be nearly perfectthen all we need is to flood the world, expand the sky islands, build up the depths, and make Link travel by boat and fuse parts of other boats to it to repair it and upgrade it
Dusty old bones full of green dust
tears had better gameplay but worse story. its only good contributions were goat girl and alt purah. the hover bike carried not only link but the entire game as theres good arguments that without that vastly improved travel/exploring ability that it was a worse game.
>>737789486It's fun with mods. Pretty boring otherwise
>>737798814you only hold this opinion because it makes you contrarian
