>>737796049If you liked Armored Core 6 then Mechwarrior is like the very opposite of that kind of a game. Its slow, cumbersome mechs with way too much health. Its just a different style of game but I don't really like the idea of the western style mechs as much. Armored Core is cool because they are similar to Transformers or Gundams but with a bit more of a realistic edge to them so they don't look at cartoony or anime. They are basically the perfect kind of mechs. I only ever played a few other mech games in the past so similar to you I am very new to the genre in general. Mechassault back on Xbox was decent but it won't really blow you away like AC6 did.

AC6 set up the momentum and Mecha Break could have taken that momentum to a new mech game renaissance but they fucked it all up. You could say that DxM was kind of like the initial calm or so before the storm. It also played a small part. But to me it seems clear only Fromsoftware is going to be able to carry this genre in any meaningful capacity. Chinks only seek to monetize like locusts and then move on to the next harvest.

Finished Master of Arena. It was slightly longer than project phantasma, probably four or five hours. Once you find your fit these games became pretty easy. That's it for the PS1 armored core games, now to get started on the PS2.
I didn't finish it. I liked it but mechs that lack weight don't feel interesting to me. At that point it's like playing a hack and slash with mech skins. I think the game was good but I need a game that is somewhere in between mechwarrior and armored core 6. It needs weight, but to not be too slow. Fighting should be akin to knights dueling in heavy armor, but a little slower, or piloting a big, but quick tank.
