The Switch pro controller is 90, and you basically NEED to get one because joycons are so dogshit. 100 for gyro, touchpads and back buttons is a solid deal functionality wise. probably still better off price wise going third party if you're just looking for some basic functionality, as the third party options are all much cheaper.

It costs them nothing to add x-input as a fallback if people wanted to use it for anything else. It makes sense that Steam wants to protect margins on the Steam Machine since people can just instantly install Windows and never use the Steam store (in theory), but the controller being only compatible with Steam removes that excuse.

When I had a DualShock 4 and used it with my PC, it was exactly the opposite. Emulators gave me absolutely no trouble, probably because almost all of them use DirectInput, but it was with modern games, some indie titles, and so on that the controller wasn’t recognized.
