Is Bravely Default any good?
>>737827174The combat system is good but the game itself isn't great. It's like bargain bin Final Fantasy, which would be fine until you hit the real story which is handled in the most mind numbing way. Edea and Airy are super hot at least.
Edea a mrgrgr
>>737827608how about BD 2?
>>737827174Extremely so. >>737827608>but the game itself isn't great. It's like bargain bin Final FantasyNo fuck you. People laser focus hard on how the game has some repetitive chapters, and then completely overlook how freeform and open the game's exploration is before, after, and honestly even during these chapters. And places you visit undergo changes as you progress throughout the game which also makes the game feel a lot more alive and the revisiting of old areas much more enjoyable whenever you do so. And the party building and character progression is also the best FF has to offer. Bravely Default is incredible.
>>737827174It's alright. Its faults are very pronounced but if you're itching for another FF5 go for it.
>>737827174I'm playing it right now and am about halfway through. I don't really care for it. Practically every enemy vomits out full party damage and status effects, so you need one party member on constant healing/recovery duty, and I don't really care for the core combat system of either banking actions or going into turn debt.
>>737827174It's pretty cool, yeah.
>>737827174its amazing.
It’s Bretty gud. Art direction alone makes it stand leagues taller than any modern final fantasy
>>737827608>which is handled in the most mind numbing way. The best part is interacting more with the astrix holders, so that whole section is perfectly fine.Especially the final loop where they all make up teams to competent each other and you get the really cute sequence of the Ninja girl getting over her shyness.
>>737827174It’s the best Final Fantasy game in decades. If you like 4-niggas-in-a-row RPG combat, it’s up there with the best-of-the-best. Characters are amazing for how simple they are (Ringabel is literally /that nigga/), art direction is beautiful, music is phenomenal. The remaster is one of the few games in current year I’d actually say is worth the full price. The complaint about repeating chapters others have made is somewhat true, but these chapters exist specifically to challenge you in team building/combat and to flesh out the characters, along with fueling the main twist in the story (don’t look it up if you don’t know it)>>737828102BD2 isn’t objectively bad, but a lot of things gameplay-wise were changed from Bravely Default / Bravely Second in a way that feels like a step back. Very much feels like Covid fucked the development in a lot of ways. I’d still say it’s worth trying if it’s on sale (it gets to 60% off on Steam these days), but it feels very clunky compared to the previous entries. Story is solid, Music and Art are still top notch, though the models look a little weird. It very much feels like a retread of a lot of things in BD1, for better and for worse.
>>737827174The job system and battle system are both great, even if the ability lists of the jobs are kinda bloated.
I enjoyed it a lot until the game turns into a boss rush, then I didn’t like it as much. It was still okay at that point though. Also I wish there were more towns to visit. But I did like the game as a whole.
>>737827174The 2nd half of the game is extremely overhated and I honestly don't understand why. I guess most of the events being technically optional really sets some people off for some reason but they may as well not be optional. You'd be a total fool to skip them. I suppose the only actual bad part is having to charge the JO crystals so many times since it makes your arm sore.
