I really don't get why everyone dickrides 2. It's just not as good as 1. I won't opine on 4 despite all the controversy because I didn't play it and have no desire to, but 3 is also just not a great or memorable game, I can't even remember hardly anything about it except the pirate homeworld and the phazon planet. 1 > 2 > 3

It gives you everything you could want if you played the first game and wanted more. If you hit success and then make the same game as a sequel, it will ultimately not be fulfilling, even though you thought you wanted more of the exact same. Prime 4 did the whole boring [ice area, lava area, tech area, desert area, jungle area] again and it was stale even before you played the game and experienced the other reddit horrors

It also looks like you're in some kind of translucent egg or amber formation and finding the upgrade below it is a cool feeling. Honorable mention to the save room in Agon Wastes with the sand flowing out of the wall.
