>still no Angel's Egg walking sim
All those techbro billionaires are slacking off, why aren't they funding some passion projects like that?

>>737845814
I should probably get to it
>>
>>737845752
Im pretty ritch, I'd drop 60k for some of the ff originals like pic related. I cant find any for sale anywhere.
>>
>>737846297
Amano keeps them all himself, like Frank Frazetta. I saw an interview in his studio where he has several enormous paper cabinets (like in art classes) and he pulled put several very old originals to show

That's only the portraits, no different than the GBA ports of FF. He's talking about the in-game graphical style itself, the sprites, the backgrounds, etc.

The Nintendo ds 3 and 4 remakes are literally amano style.

Thanks for letting me know. Fucking bullshit!

IV has costumes "inspired by" Amano, but that's where it ends. The models, the shaders, the environments are all still standard 3D

I like that gun thing that Guy has
>>
>>737847220
It's a crossbow, you can see the bolt/arrow tip

That seems true for a lot of Japanese artists. Joke is love to buy some random pages from some of my favorite manga, but they just aren’t for sale.
>>
>>737845752
best art-style no question.
>>
>>737847380
Manga artists are different, they mostly destroyed their pages because manga has always been considered a disposable product. Only American comics preserve originals to resell as a standard because artists get paid so little they have to try to make money off those pages multiple ways.

these days most manga is digital anyway, there usually are no "originals" at all

Wonder if I could grab some akihito tsukushi artwork before he is arrested for pefophilia.

I think it's alright when he's forced to adhere to someone else's more grounded character designs
>>
>>737847380
if they were for sale they'd already be sold and you wouldn't have a chance

It's not like JP mangaka are any different. The problem is most likely the copyright. Mangakas work under the magazine they publish in so they probably can't just sell things at will.

I know Rumiko Takanashi managed to keep he creations under her control and became one of the richest women in the country.

Bob Rosses were 4-6k in 2014, they are going for 70k now.
>>
>>737848224
oh and you've got 70k to spare for a piece of paper?
>>
>>737848386
No, just 60. >>737846297
>>
>>737848583
well theyre not going to be 60k
>>
>>737845752
His style is good for the covers, bad for everything else.
>>
>>737848747
I dont know, Bob Ross was 4k in 2014 (Which was the fucking point of this story). Somthing out there has 1500% return potential.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, here's the interview with the part of him pulling originals out timestamped: https://youtu.be/PJEPhBL77lk?t=176

Just stunning stuff. Just die already so your grandkids can pawn it off.
>>
>>737849069
The funny thing, that's exactly what's going to happen. "Gramps has a lot of useless paper scribbles, maybe we can make a quick buck out of it?"
>>
>>737849375
>>737849069
Nah, these families know what they're doing. Frank Fazetta did the same thing, and his kids and grandkids have opened a museum of his artwork instead of selling it off.
>>
>>737845752
i personally like how it was done back then, with out of game art giving your imagination a lot to fill in the holes when it came to the actual game graphics.
feels like you get more bang for your buck.
>>
>>737849843
God i hope that happens to amano art. It would be such a shame for it to end up in the hands of a collector, posting about its 1500% growth value on 4chan.
