What happened to the idea of console killer PC builds? I remember they were really popular after 2013
The PS4 and Xbone had incredibly shitty CPUs so buildings cheap PCs that surpassed them wasn't hard. The PS5 and XSX however actually have decent GPUs, CPUs and RAM
>>737851173it's done and over with desu. You have cat-slop creation data centers buying up all inventory for all components; and then there's been a bit of a convergence between PC hardware and console hardware -- and they too are able to secure contracts for lower prices than consumers get.pretty grim.
Turns out they were lyingWeird

Pricing. Like you could reliably churn these out with quality components but now decent ram is half the price of a console and GPUs that suck are about the cost of one.Still worth it to invest, mind you, just the days of $500 PCs being better than the newest console are over. Now it's just a bit more expensive or you gotta factor in console online surcharge to have the price gap close in about ~4 years
