The Winterers and Solstice storyline is a pretty good setup. Its a threat that ties in with the previous storyline but feels like something different enough, and it has the interesting bonus of having the enemy faction pursue the same goal as us, but by different means. Then again a good setup only goes so far, hope they don't completely fuck it up. I already think having Calyx be one of the Winterers is a mistake because he's a very stupid fuckass character but we'll see
Those of us here who actually play the game are excited for the gameplay changes, but the vast majority of the game's playerbase will be judging Evercold's quality entirely by its MSQ. That's all the majority of players even care about.

I have a friend who played this game with me from ARR to Endwalker, we played for years and years and he quit in Dawntrail. He's saying that Evercold looks cool, but the only way he ever comes back is if they give the DT story skip to everyone for free, which obviously they're not going to do. I wonder if there's a lot of people out there with this same position, even if we're past DT its still going to continue to be a massive roadblock in quality for everyone experiencing the game for the first time.
