>finding out after 9 years of playing rhythm games that I could adjust the scroll speed in settings to make reading charts easier or harder
If only I realized this shit sooner. Stuff I thought was impossibly hard was just going too slow/too cluttered for me to read properly. This feels like cheating kek

Is that so you can memorize the stage before playing it? I'm really horrible at the genre.

>I'm really horrible at the genre.
Most people start there, there's unfortunately not much you can do but practice on songs you like until some charts become second nature and get familiar with finger placement/muscle memory. It took me a really long time (a month) before I could reach a consistent 95% rate when I first tried DJmax. Rift is not a beginner friendly game, with how gimmicky and almost puzzle-like some enemies/notes can be. Really fun still

>Is that so you can memorize the stage before playing it?
It's just for me to cope with my shit reflexes/ability to parse when charts get cluttered, I think. I haven't tried it in Rift yet, not sure if there's even the option to do so. But I just tried it in Yunyun Denpa Syndrome, I full comboed the first song I tried on the maximum difficulty after changing the note speed from 6.0 to 9.0

It's insane how much difference it makes, it depends on the game I guess. I'll try in necrodancer and taiko next

My dystopian robot girlfriend surprised me with its rhythm game that also has nothing to do with having sex. The songs get fairly difficult for only being two notes

Yeah, same. Some of them are real bangers like spaghetti bolognese but the patterns get truly schizophrenic after that. I suspect the dev is not really a good charter but I can forgive the clunky attempts. Fun for a cooking mini game

I'm getting old...

Seeing Jun praise me and yell in enthusiasm when I hit streaks motivates me to keep trying and get better. RIP future balls exploding

are any rhythm games as fun as guitar hero?
>>

taiko no tatsujin
>>
>>737861258
you didn't complete the song
>>
>>737861418
its the opposite. when you start a rhythm game, you have to bind your eyes to your hands which takes time. once you have the memory, you can skip thinking, which means you can process visual input faster and 'react' reflexively, called the 'flow state'.

at higher difficulties, charts tend to increase the amount of notes you need to hit within the same time period, meaning it becomes very dense and hard for your reflexes to recognize patterns they've already learned, which are usually the same just faster

there are no rhythm games as fun as ongeki, but i am also biased against touch screens since i was born before they were invented

I have never reached that flow state
>>
>game stops being fun
>>
>>737863214
huh? thats the main reason theyre really good. once you stop playing garbage 4k games and move on to something with deeper mechanics there is a physical flow state as well, although its heavily dependent on the charters ability

I thought it was another difficulty modifier for a long time too.

Sorry but if you used faster note scrolling to beat bag on heavy, you didn't clear the song.
