Newest gen of consoles are all about rewarding having previous gen titles through backward compatibility. Xbox, Nintendo and Sony are leaning this way. Exclusives are only one reason out of many like physical games. Your outlook is outdated by almost 10 years.

I don’t buy many games anymore (most of the modern ones suck so I’m playing a lot of stuff I missed as a kid), but the few I do buy per year will be one or two on PC (namely if the games have good mods for them) and about three on my Piss5. That being said, people aren’t wrong when they say the Piss5 and Xbox don’t have games on them anymore. 2024 was an okay year for having three timed exclusives and one permanent one for Piss5 (FF7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin and Astro Bot) and that’s appalling low compared to the mid-2010s offered.
