My own personal speculation is that we're going to build some sort of anchor, an artificial hydaelyn who will keep the worlds unsundered. Specifically I think its going to be a world tree, given how norse the new expansion looks. The world tree in mythos held the worlds amongst its branches. I reckon we're going to try and make one to hold everything apart. Probably with a followup of opening portals between shards in a permanent fashion, so that travel between them is possible for anyone.
