yes. the available technology seemed quite capable to live comfortable with. they literally had turbo football. you had a binding religion that valued heroic figures and sacrifice and all you had to do was learn some hand gestures. even then you weren't shunned if you weren't hardcore about it. most of all this binding culture kept the sand people at bay.
