>>737994923it's an autist tranny thing. Doing the same thing over and over and over and gaining some weird recognition for it
i feel like "adhd zoomer" is /v/'s favorite new buzzphrase to describe anything they don't like
>>737995163anything zoomer is pushed by (((shills))) to create more dividehow come zoomers are still being made fun off but 67 died as quick as it came (and alphies are left untouched)? because the outrage is artificially manufactured
Troons are in any% speedrun of their own life, so it's the same in the game
>>737995406so phrases like "unc" aren't a real thing zoomers say?>67 died as quick as it cameexcept it didn't die
>>737995406The only generation worth bitching about are boomers. Everything else is a distraction.
>>737995562Unc is just something wiggers adopted. Lets not pretend gen x and millenials didn't have wiggers too.
>>737994923Back then it used to be about extracting more enjoyment from a game you already love and expressing your mastery at it.Now it's for internet clout and points with the tranny "community" that has almost entirely taken it over.
what's the appeal of smearing poop on my balls

>>737994923I liked it 10 years ago or so. When they would speedrun popular games I was familiar with, it was entertaining seeing glitches and things I hadn't seen before in games I knew. Modern agdq is mostly weird games now and the people are kinda weird and it's not really the same. One of the last good ones I remember seeing was this super metroid race https://youtu.be/lmfV8IhsHq0?t=1066
>>737995163Is the post wrong though? It's definitely a zoomer thing.
>>737995907how did i move goalposts? the other anon said anything zoomer is pushed by shills so i asked about "unc" since it's zoomer lingo.i'm not trying to win an argument, i have no stake in this, believe whatever you want.
>>737994923I would really prefer if you'd be quiet.
>>737994923Yes unc, speedrunning didn't exist before 2020
>>737994923give it a go, it's fun
>>737995594Boomers unironically get too much hate and I say that as a Gen Z. Yes, they’re ignorant of how the modern world works because they grew up in a different time, but they’re also completely right that Millennials are whiny bitches who blame others for their problems rather than that just getting on with life. Millennials are easily the worst generation and it shows in how many of them are raising Gen Alpha to be iPad kids.
>>737999264mfw having fun with speedruns
>>737999276They got to grow up in a different time and then force us to live through this time created by their selfish decisions. That's more than enough reason to hate them.
>>737999570They’re the only generation who didn’t have it shit in some way because they came off the back of a really destructive war that reset everything to zero. All that happened after them was that things went back to normal. You can’t blame them for being a historical anomaly. You’d also have to be delusional to think that life now is worse than it was during times like WW2.

>>737994923It's the easiest way to get constant viewers on twitch. If you never learned a trade it's a decent way to make money.
>>737994923>Is it just some weird adhd zoomer thing?false flag, it's a millenial thing
>>737994923Speedrunning is kind of like playing a game for high score. It's competition.
IMO, the best part about speedrunning is when it gets to the point of people looking at the source code to figure out how the game works. That’s always interesting.
>>737994923I like seeing someone play hard games really well. People who watch TAS or glitch exploiting runs are retards though.
>>737994923it's a tranny thing
>>738001271Glitch runs are interesting because you get to see how the game works under the hood, but non-glitched runs are a greater showcase of skill.
>>737994923Just another form of competition.
>>738001271TASs are vastly superior.>b-but muh human achievementdon't carewatching a TAS run is like a little magic show
For me its about seeing people fine tune the runs, to find the most batshit insane ways to exploit the game by looking at different parts of it and managing to break it somehow. The process is probably grueling repetition but at least the highlights seem cool and interesting. The community, competition and exploit sleuthing aspect of it is what probably attracts people torwards it in the first place.
>>738001524>TASs are vastly superior. Its so much less impressive, might as well type in some code that starts the credits.
>>737994923I only respect 100% glitchless runs. I'm not impressed by you walking into a tree for 15 seconds until the game memory gets corrupted and you get end credits in 2 minutes of gameplay
>>737994923Zoomies don't understand how cool speedrunning is unfortunately, they just think about trannies as proved by this thread. They're so fucking retarded i swear to god.
>>737994923>zoomerYou are an idiot. Speedrunning has been a thing since before you were born. It's an autistic thing.
>>738001878Yeah, it's completely unreasonable that anyone would connect speedrunning and trannies.
>>737996258I don't believe that anyone actually does those suicide missions thinking it will give them more acceptance. They just desperately seek ways to feel something because their lives feel empty.
>>738002868You’re implying speedrunners don’t do the same? The validation is intoxicating and thrilling, especially if you set a world record or discover a trick or skip that immortalises you in that community.
>>738001920>getting mad at baitanon....
>>737998905>It's definitely a zoomer thing.Zoomers were shitting in their diapers when speedrunning started taking off. You're just looking for a scapegoat to yell at.
>>737998890I'm pretty ignorant on modern indie games, as I just usually don't find them that interesting, but I'm curious. Are modern indies just inherently less interesting to watch speedruns of? With a game like Super Metroid you get a nice combination of funky glitchy movement and intended mechanics being used together in interesting ways. Whenever I check a speedrun for Super Metroid or SotN I see the runner doing a variety of interesting shit. When I tune into GDQ and they're playing Hollow Knight or Ori or something, though, it feels like it's just "jump, airdash airdash, enemy bounce, jump jump, airdash, enemy bounce". Again I'm pretty ignorant to modern indies, but to a casual observer, it doesn't look that different to someone playing the game normally, whereas a run of something like SM or SotN has all this crazy shit that you'd never see in a casual playthrough.
>>738001408That depends entirely on the game and the glitches available in it. Some glitches require enormous precision, so saying "glitchless = more skill" is an oversimplification. Glitchless runs are always longer, so if anything they require more consistency and endurance. But in terms of mechanical skill, glitches tend to be much harder to do than just playing the game normally. Performing a glitch is not the same as simply entering a cheatcode.
>>738001524I like them for showing what is theoretically possible if in a game if it wasn't for human limitations.
>>737994923Certain games with cool movement tech and minimal menu fuckery/skip 90% of the game glitches can make for a fun watch every once in a while. I'm not the kind of guy who follows speed run history or is able to name all the tech but I do enjoy Metroid and Castlevania speed runs because of how cool some of the movement looks.
>>738004473If you seek validation there's about a bazillion better things to do.
