ITT: Background heroes that players don't even realize they were heroes.

Pic related. This random nobody is not only never acknowledged as the arguably biggest hero in the whole Dead Space series, he is outright portrayed as a random mean villain and a buffoon who hates heckin science. And in fact, he was literally an hero who prevented the Brother Moon from waking up for decades.

He should've been rewarded with sex from hot women. He's just like me for real.

He's literally one part of a science/military project that had it as a part of their disaster protocol was to destroy any and all research and information on the Necromorphs, the Markers, the aliens and the planet itself in order to ensure Earthgov couldn't use it against them. This single act could very well be the thing that damned all of Mankind because all that information was lost and Earthgov went and did all the same shit, and this time there is no stopping convergence.

He's an idiot, but he was an idiot following orders, which is even worse.

Dead Space 3 was the unsung hero of the Dead Space series. I wouldn't have played it if it wasn't for Dead Space 3's BroTeamPill let's play

Benny would also create a safer independent Vegas if he won.

At the start of Dead Space 3 you play as some nobody (and if you have friends, his Jewish friend too) who is instructed by a guy called "Dr. Serrano" to retrieve the Codex, which can save humanity from the evil Necromorphs. You get the Codex safely, but the guy in the OP gets in your way and is like
>"Do you like your mom?"
and when your character says yes, he shoots him in the head. Such is life in Moscow.

He then takes the Codex from your cold dead hands and he deletes all the data on it. He then an heroes. In the game, this is portrayed like "oh no! he destroyed the one thing that could save humanity!!".

But at the end when the real protagonist of Dead Space, Yitzhak Klarkovich (also known as Isaac Clarke) recreates the Codex using his amazing engineering skills, the Codex is actually used to unfreeze the big bad super alien that created all the Necromorphs.

So by erasing the Codex in the past, in the prologue, General An Hero effectively saved humanity until Yitzhak came and fuck everything up. Without Yitzhak, the Codex would have never been recreated, and the big bad alien would remain frozen forever.

This is ignoring that the Unitologists all over known space have decided to activate every Marker that Earthgov created to deal with an energy crisis, and is the primary reason the mission to snow planet happened. To find a way to stop the Markers. Which was deleted by General dipshit of the SCAV to spite Earthgov. The question though is would it have even made a difference at that point or not given convergence was happening everywhere all at once.

Honestly, I find the thought of being torn apart by mutated corpses of the people around me kinda arousing. System Shock 2 did it better.
