>bought the game last week>played mostly in the robot planets because of the timed mission telling me to do so>by the end of the week i was soloing missions on hard>this week they want us to fight ze bugs>pick a random mission and go in solo>cant outrun the bugs>most of them kill me in 2-3 hits>the ones i do kill explode in poison gas that also deal damageFucking hell are bugs meant to be this much harder or am i doing something wrong?
You need a specific loadout for bugs when playing solo, grenade launcher or crossbow or something explosive like that is a must especially if you're fighting the bile strain as you seem to
This game is designed to be played coop. I recommend you drop an SOS Beacon every time you drop. That is until you learn that this game has host DISadvantage, where enemies focus you harder and have better aim/targeting when you're the host because swedish jank code. As for bugs, it's more about clearing up the dangerous stuff. A lot of the fast guys that get in quick die quickly as well. You need enough crowd control to keep the horde under control. My favorite equipment to help with this is the Machine gun sentry (it's amazing and has a low cooldown so you can spam it), medium machine gun or stalwart depending on your primary, orbital gas strike to drop on breaches, eagle napalm once you have the additional bomb upgrade, etc. Also, protip for new players, the Rover backpacks are great against bugs and squids. I prefer the Las-5 to the Liberator because it's less likely to blow your head off in .2 seconds, but if you are shekeling up the Gas dog is by far my favorite.
>>737998528The bots are the gamer dad faction.
>>737998528They're testing out the "new" bug faction, play on non-MO planets to avoid them. Before the spore bugs had these special effects compared to normal bugs.>Increased damage>Increased health>Longer enrage state if killed by headshot>Higher spawn rate and larger patrols>Light armored bugs grew medium armor red horns to deflect the occasional shot>Burst of fog on death to reduce visibility of the swarmThe new ones changed that fog to give all nearby bugs a permanent 250% movement speed buff, but also made it so they don't burst if killed while on fire. Basically you bring napalm, incendiary weapons, and lasers so they almost never get the speed burst off or bring enough crowd control to rush down the horde.
>>737999001>They're testing out the "new" bug factionIs it any good?t. not op
>>737999420Like I said, it's just spore burst bugs, except now they need to be killed with fire or else they're nearly twice as fast as predator strain. It feels like their speed wasn't even tested, they can't stop their movement animation fast enough so they constantly run 10 feet past you before attacking thin air. The big threat is being overtaken to the horde and body blocked to death, they cannot be outrun or escaped at all, even with all the speed and stamina passives in light armor. Stick together and set up killing fields, solo is practically unviable using meta loadouts. Stealth with lasers might be the way to go if you want to leave the team, just kill the chaff, avoid the heavies, and hope they never get a breach off, but I don't have the warbond yet.
>>737998528It's not you, the game is balanced as if the AIs were the paying customers
