Did Overwatch really killed any potential this game may have had or was it the mismanagent from the devs?
bump, did no one here really remembers this game?
It was basically a rerun of Brink with preset characters and failed for the same reasons as Brink did.
>>738020803The card system drove off most people not willing to dump money on it and from there on it was just a slow bleed of what remained with no updates whatsoever. People got bored, other more interesting games came out.
>>738020803The game balance was genuinely awful with some really braindead OP mercs and the constant nerfing and buffing, weapons like burst fire rifles and shotguns were fucked up, had to wait for months inbetween content updates, loadout cards and general progression were badly executed, it had fucking Nexon of all companied as the publisher and the community whining about literally everything, just to name a fewAppearently 1.0 launched badly too but didn't stick around for that, a shame too because the core gameplay and aesthetics are pretty cool
>>738023121Its a pile of shit and recycled from Brink, the first concorde like game.
>>738020803It was a mediocre wolfenstein:ET clone.
>>738023301the card system was a communication problem from their part, if they made it clear to people that golds cobalts and shit don't give any actual advantage people wouldn't have complained about p2wExpecially since this was still an era when F2P was full of shit like Combat arms when you basically shop your way to becoming a god DB wasnt like that
>>738020803mismanaged and like all online FPS, especially smaller and free ones, had a cheater problem.game was fucking awesome though. it perfected larger scale payload / A/D maps in a way no one has since TF2. there were roles but it wasn't hard defined like a OW, a "healer" could frag out just as anyone else. i think only The Finals is close but its smaller scale and they somewhat pivoted to more e-sports balance instead of casual fun, which is fucking gay.
This is a game im really upset i missed out on when it was big
>>738024737Brink was literally unplayable, I remember when I went to buy it as a kid and the guy at gamestop warned me to get the used copy so I'd get a full refund.I still think about that guy randomly, what a bro.
>>738020803The grenade merc was so OP
>>738024809I think most people knew but there were still meta/ideal card sets you couldn't get outside of payfagging.
>>738025798what? you could get all the cards just by playing the game. The mercs being locked was gay but at least they had the decency to put a couple in rotation every week
