>>738033691yeah. if you don't want to party (playing with other people is required to level) you can get "trusts" which are NPCs that will let you play through the game without much player interaction. this is the modern retail game.if you want to play with others, you can play on a FFXI private server like HorizonXI. recommended because it is the prime time of the game which was 2006 or so. you will be forced to party with other people in order to level jobs and to advance the story.

Its literally taken them longer to get that expansion working than it took Squeenix to make it in the first place. Even if they did get Treasures working its too fucking late now, you have entire server flooded with fags with millions of gil, relic weapons, and end game meta builds, it'd be a complete and utter steamroll.If you're going to play it for the story there really is only one choice, retail. None of the private servers have all the story content working yet, most have up to Treasures (except horizon, kek) and some Wings of the Goddess content but none have anything from Seekers of Adoulin implemented.

I'd recommend retail because it is the entire game, I'd stay away from private servers as they are a more grueling and less active experience filled with nepotism.
