How much microtransaction is too much?
>>
>>738034073
$5 for emote/skin/mount is the limit
>>
>>738034073
The moment they start costing as much as a full game they should stop calling them micro

As much as the whales will pay for.
>>
>>738034656
Lmao do games journalists publish stuff like this anymore?
>>
>>738034073
>in our aids riddled game with girlbosses and trannies as far as the eye can see
>we also have micro transactions for 75 USD

who is paying for this? This has to be money laundering for some fraud or criminal enterprise.
>>
>>738035002
Not after kane and lynch and the 8.8

Any

Yea white and pink is pretty cool. But wait until you see glowing light green and light blue. Brown and yellow is like the shittiest looking possible color palette which is why that’s the free colors. It’s all been done loads of times before, they’ve actually build like 300 million houses irl. Almost everyone’s been inside a house before now.
>>
Neighbourhoods are pretty fucking huge. Theres going to be so many antics trying to move into a good neighborhood with lots of pro gamers.
>>
>>738034073
Anything above 3 USD is a macrotransaction.
3 bucks is 5% of 60, you don't get to call it micro after that.
5% is already pretty big.
>>
>>738034073
Blizzfags are Stockholm Syndrome addled subhumans
>>
>>738035465
$75 is like 2-3 hours of work for Americans. Most of them don’t even need to work and make that much just off their compounds. My dad will just buy me the coolest house in game just like in real life.

it's preying on The Sims moms and women in general
remember farmville, that shitty facebook game? bored housewives spent thousands on that game, it accrued millions just from casual pinches of $ from women that needed a useless expenditure outlet

that's all the OP is, that's all these types of things ever are. it's all predatory wasteful bullshit aimed toward the most unproductive members of society
>>
>>738034656
Steve "Big Hog" Hogarty
>>
>>738035443
On my server nobody cares about neighborhoods.
They're all empty, and the houses are basically the tutorial finished house and completely abandoned.
>>
>>738034073
This is fine. The people still playing that slop deserve to be taken advantage of.
>>
>>738034073
That's not microtransaction.
That's macrotransaction.
>>
>>738035687
micro, people have forgotten what it is supposed to be. it's one millionth, the payment should be so small you don't even think about it.
>>
>>738034073
There's no way even wowbucks are pathetic enough to spend nearly $100 on a shitty fake house
>>
>>738034073
>they release this just after dropping their buggy as fuck vibecoded patch
if wow players actually buys this then they deserve the hole they dug, I can literally go on steam and get like 15 games for that money
>>
>>738034656
i wanna go sailing but florida is too fucking hot
>>
>>738034073
So what do you actually get for $75? Just the housing skin and the decorations? What's it look like inside?
>>
>>738036015
They are indeed. Part of the issue with WoW pricing now is that since tokens still exist MLG King Activision Blizzard has to make their shit expensive. It really doesn't excuse their awful prices for all their pay to play games, especially since the only way to get tokens means someone else had to pay real money for them. But, for everyone that isn't blatantly retarded, they take advantage of the system. Boosting is still a huge prevalent thing in the game, and certain professions at launch still make pretty insane amounts of gold as well. Everyone that participates in gold making at a decent scale are still like the 1% of the game's playerbase, but at least they exist.
>>
>>738034073
so they made one new housing skin
and it's immediately paid
>>
>>738034073
>$75 for WoW cosmetics
Blizz feeling generous huh
>>
>>738034656
God I miss Computer Gaming world and old Game Informer. When something was absolute dogshit they would happily use the entire english lexicon to inform.

Literally anything is too much in a game that has a fucking subscription fee. The actual, pre-Activision merge original WoW team understood that and said as much. If you had to buy the game, and you're continuously paying for the game, why the hell would there be any treasures in the game you can't obtain by adventuring? It's unbelievable dogshit.
>>
>>738034073
the sad part is it's such little effort they probably don't need to sell that many to make a profit
whales will buy literally anything just to feel better than the average player
>>
Clearly its never enough cuz you fags keep fucking buying this shit
>>
>>738034073
If you play modern blizzard games you're genuinely an unsalvageable subhuman and I'll immediately disregard any opinions you have on the topic of video games
>>
>>738043331
what's crazy is I don't understand what makes them feel better about this
it's not a glad mount, it's some shit you bought off the store
even if you're not ashamed of displaying it (which you should be) where do you find it in yourself to feel good about showing this shit off?
and that goes for mounts and mogs, housing is a whole different beast because for 99% of the playerbase, even just the part that actually engages with housing, it is a solo activity
no one will ever see or care about your shitty house, it's something you build for yourself to have fun, maybe take a pic and post in on reddit for people to see but that's about it
>>
>>738044018
bro the gameplay is fire :)
>>
>>738044391
what is the gameplay like
>>
>>738034073
I remember when people used to cry bloody murder over $20 store mounts. It's amazing to see how far things have deteriorated.
>>
>>738034073
if something is entirely digital and be copied for free you have no business paying for it
this is universally true
>>
they're pulling out all the stops because the latest expansion is a ghost town, nobody cares about neighbourhoods, nobody cares about delves, nobody cares about the gay little rp tavern, game is a shambling corpse being kept alive by whales buying stupid shit like this
>>
>>738035687
As an American, 2-3 hours of real work for a digital skin for a game you have to pay a monthly subscription to play on an expansion pack you have to buy into is egregious. It's actually more than egregious. It's egregious within the context of egregious scams it's like the king of kings of egregious.
>>
>>738044424
you tab target a bunch of mobs and press your buttons and avoid stuff on the floor
and there's numbers on your character that go up that fill you with dopamine
>>
>>738044573
i thought midnight was the best expansion in a long time

I remember when so many people flipped out over these stupid transmog hats being sold that Blizz immediately gave up on selling transmog shit on their cash shop until a few years ago, I wanna say Shadowlands started it again?

>and press your buttons
One button rotation. You press one.
>>
>>738044890
OBR is for brainrotted collectors who only play the game to collect shit they'll never use
no one who is good at the game or has fun with it actually uses that shit

its not aimed at your normal consumer, its aimed at bugmen who slave away for 14 hours a day 6 days a week with 0 worker rights

to them they think that simply having material goods is a sign of wealth so they just spend
its the reason why gachas are popular, they dont care about anything other than the perceived status of having an item that others dont
>>
Literally everything I have heard about WoW for the last 8 years discourages me from ever playing it again. And that's from people being paid to advertise it.
They were fucking right though, literally nobody wanted this for player housing.
>>
>>738034656
fucking ell I miss this.
I fucking loved when Game Informer used to be edgy and write pieces adjacent to this. when they went more formal I cancelled my Subscription.

I wish all my reviews came through a semi-cynical comedic lens of a voice like Yahtzee Croshaw.
>>
>>738034073
Blizzard is smalltime, ESO sells houses that cost $130 bucks and so.
>>
>>738034073
my cousin who's an ardent anti-capitalist is 100% buying this shit.

This is like asking how much poop you are willing to eat. Any amount is beyond unacceptable.
>>
>>738035734
You can't exclusively cater to women though. Women only do that retarded shit trying to attract men. If you drive the men away the women leave. It's why tv/movies are dead and games are doing the same retarded shit.
>>
>>738045014
>material goods
the goods are immaterial
>>
>>738045002
it's good enough to get a purple parse on warcraftlogs
>>
>>738034073
sunk 10k hours each into at least 4 MMOs here.
who the fuck cares about player housing?
you're supposed to be leveling up, getting better gear and getting dank PVP kills.
if you want to play the sims just play that instead.
>>
I wouldn't even buy a sub to play an mmorpg I'm so cheap hehe call it what you want I will not pay a monthly fee to pay your souls sucking labor simulator anyway, let alone an overpriced japanese decoration.
>>
>>738047017
i'd like to see a heavily detailed breakdown of content completion, players, and since wotlk achievements, of PvE, PvP, and whatever the roleplay servers were called
i like percentages. i lost the "you'll never get out alive" or whatever screenshot of the npc bandit attacking the roleplaying furries
>>
>>738034073
Cheaper than XIV at least
>>
so this is why they shut down twow?
>>
>>738034073
If players buy it, then it's too cheap.
>>
>>738034656
This is trying way too hard to be edgy and counter culture. Especially with the egregious use of a cuss word in the headline.
>>
>>738050790
Infinitely preferable to what we have today.

You are trying too hard to be wholesome and respected. The only reason you are reading years later is because when he asked himself if it was over the top he said no. Sometimes you just type what you are thinking and send it
