A Link to the Past is better than Ocarina of Time.
Fact. Not an opinion.

It it was really a fact you would have your “fact” card. You don’t. Therefore it’s not a fact.

woops sorry.
i'll post the right image next thread

It's more playable in some ways, but ultimately it's a more cookie cutter and empty experience. OoT has a lot of what made ALttP great, but in 3D, and it also has a story that's worth thinking a little about, and some really great music movements and moments throughout that makes the game linger in your memory, both for gameplay moments in the temples and for imagery.

ALttP i mostly remember places in the field, some dungeons, and the same 3-4 music pieces playing on repeat. And I think the finale with Ganon feels rather generic, even if the Triforce ending is pretty majestic.

OP fucking demolished by facts

>A Link to the Past
too many of the dungeons use a similar tileset and music and it really drags things down

For what ALttP lacks in music, environment and story-telling, makes up for its excellent gameplay, dungeon design and pacing. The combat, although simplistic, is deeper than OoT's combat.
OoT's combat is too easy. All you do is hold Z targetting, hold R for shield, and attack. Wait, and attack.
ALttP at least tests your skill in combat.

Ok I laughed

Sure, the music can get boring.
But every single dungeon has its own unique challenges, enemies, gimmicks, items etc. ALttP makes a better use of items than in OoT, because items you get in early dungeons can also be useful in later dungeons.
Also, the bosses are just better. Instead of having Navi telling you what to do, you have to experiment with your items to beat the bosses. And what's cool with ALttP is that there are multiple solutions to beat the boss, whereas in OoT, the bosses often only have one solution to beat them.

It makes up for it in playability and simplicity, I agree.
But ultimately OoT is the better package to me. I feel more fulfilled playing through OoT. ALttP I get impatient and just wanna speed through it. Then I do that, and the ending happens and I'm like "that was a game."

Wrong. Zelda 2 or get out.

Yes.

Yeah, I guess you're right. OoT was more like an adventure. I guess that's why I remember more the cool story moments from ocarina of time.
Personally, I value gameplay more, and I found the dungeons in ALttP more satisfying to go through than OoT's dungeons.

kek lmao

In some ways.

But LttP was just before Nintendo figured out how to make genuinely good dungeons, which happened in LA.
>>
ALttP is my favorite for it's well executed simplicity, but games are more than raw gameplay.

OoT might not have the best designed dungeons, but the atmosphere easily makes them infinitely more memorable, and the same goes for most of the game.

It's faster paced with minimal cutscenes which is really nice.
