I played this game for the first time this year and its amazing. Has /v/ played this game?
Yes, I played it over Christmas break in 2024. It was pretty good. Music was solid, the world was interesting and dub reminded me of a better time. Gameplay needed something a bit more than just the addition system though.

A game that doesn't excel in anything.

New cast in the same (significantly changed) world, with fate bringing out a new set of Dragoons to save the world once again. With how often Soa was mentioned in the second half of the game, it's honestly surprising (by JRPG standards) that we never actually see or interact with them at all, just some wannabe asshole trying to LARP as god.

I beat the final boss with Dart/Albert/Rose using Volcano, Harpoon, and Whip Smack respectively.To be fair though, the timing is a lot stricter than it looks, and most of it comes down to the TV you're using. The refresh rate can throw off your timing. It's easiest with a CRT of course.

Back when shounen had actual adults protags or teens that looked like adults as a lot of those were pretty common. To this day I still wonder who specifically made this game because they sure put in a lot of effort if the rumors are true at trying to compete with Final Fantasy.
