>>738052467In Mount & Blade: Warband there was a companion affinity system. I never took the time to read any of their dialogue or backstories, so it was a crapshoot for me, never knowing which ones approved of my playstyle. They're just useful to have in the party because their stats and skills are fully customizable, so you can train them to be hero units that fill a role. If a companion gets uppity with your leadership style, or disapproves of other companions, then complains enough times, he or she will leave the party. This would always take enough time to happen that they would end up leaving the party with high end gear. Later on, if you find them in a tavern again, they will give you a second chance and be willing to join the party again. At this point, I would always re-recruit them, take back all their gear, then kick them out of the party. If they were girls, I would strip them down to their underpants, if they were guys, I would make them wear a dress. This way, when I was going around taverns, I could tell if one of the companions was a shitter or not and know not to recruit them again if they were a girl in their underpants or a guy in a dress.
