I'm downloading Death Stranding 2How does it compare to the first one?
>>738068095It's twice as stranded.
same as the first gameit feels like going to workbut you don't get paid
It's good but its ultimately more of the same, surprisingly straightforward sequel by Kojima standards.
>>738068163>>738068202big if true>>738068216>more of the samethat's all i wanted
>>738068163too death strandingstranding me too death
It's Death Stranding but the world is easier to navigate, there's more rooty tooty shooty, and the story has to soft retcon certain aspects from the first game
>>738068095Its even less fun
nice ayy in disguise
>>738068095God she’s so fucking hot. It doesn’t help that she looks like a cousin of mine.
>>738068163Electric Strandaloo
piss standing 1 is jankpiss standing 2 on the bitch is smoother
>>738068240More of the same in the gameplay department, but I personally find the story bad. And I liked the DS1 story.
>>738068095better in every way, a little bit too long maybe, but the endgame is kino and the final battle is Kojima as fuck (Kojima means more than Kino)
the boss fights are terrible bullet sponges with no redeeming qualities to them, given how copy-pasted the game is (fighting the octopus or le mads mikkelsen clone for the 9th time)the game dumps loads more contextual mechanics onto you that you will rarely if ever use (like noise suppression, lethal rounds, any of the melee weapons) due to APAS upgradesvehicles invalidate 99% of the game and have no downsides (avoids timefall, few if any rocky paths that jostle cargo leading to damage, almost impervious to weapons, battery packs triple energy bank), and the 1% they don't invalidate has you trudging through literal feces for a whole mission (mountains to rescue the adventurer before snow tires exist)the start-stop DHV mission structure gets old after the first few missions and the game is decidedly linear throughoutinsufferable characters like neil and higgs occupying all of the screentime with their awful contrived plot structuresthe game is good but nowhere near the quality of the original director's cut game, it's fanwank if you care at all about the story structure of the first game
>>738068095>handsKek, where have i been that pose before. And E33 isn't some asset flip aislop game.
>>738068675based
the game is ultra-comfy
same shit but more cringe. Didn't finish it. Uninstalled
did a massive 100% playthroughdid a story playthroughnow doing another massive 100% playthroughit might just be the most comfy game i have ever playedi really liked the first one but it was not comfy at all
>>738069625good postone of the most disappointing competent sequels i've ever playedit's the dark souls 3 of kojima games
>>738069625>the boss fights are terrible bullet sponges with no redeeming qualities to them, given how copy-pasted the game is (fighting the octopus or le mads mikkelsen clone for the 9th time)never felt any boss was spongy, have you tried hitting their weak points or getting close with a shotgun?>the game dumps loads more contextual mechanics onto you that you will rarely if ever use (like noise suppression, lethal rounds, any of the melee weapons) due to APAS upgradesoh no, not a plethora of optional mechanics, this is not what i signed up for>vehicles invalidate 99% of the game and have no downsides (avoids timefall, few if any rocky paths that jostle cargo leading to damage, almost impervious to weapons, battery packs triple energy bank), and the 1% they don't invalidate has you trudging through literal feces for a whole mission (mountains to rescue the adventurer before snow tires exist)i barely used vehicles, theres lots of other ways to make traversal fun and engaging, it sounds like your a boring person playing the game in the most boring way possible >the start-stop DHV mission structure gets old after the first few missions and the game is decidedly linear throughoutif youre just doing a main story run i agree with this, but its not an issue if youre completing sub/standard/ orders/aid requests/ scavenging materials/building/taking out camps etc after each story mission>insufferable characters like neil and higgs occupying all of the screentime with their awful contrived plot structurestheyre barely in the game, like less than 1% of the total game time, probably like 5% of the total story cutscenes
IM JOGGER SAM
i forgot how much foliage can grow if theres no been any timefall for a while, this long grass was really useful in luring the base to metook them out like that scene from jurassic park 2
I think I preferred the first gameThe environment was more unique and I abused vehicles less
Fanning sisters footjob
>>738068095Its a work of art. About as good as modern games get.
>>738068095this outfit is so ugly it looks like a sack bag
>>738068095>Offline>400TTW>All Milestones>S ranks on all VRNo Ranked Orders so no post game fun. Nothing to do.Its ok.DS1 = 7.5/10DS2 = 7.25/10
>>738072704
>>738068095the geography is 100 times worse but the new tools are a lot of fun
Is there no Free Cam mod for this game?I am surprised that we're not getting flooded with feet pics of the female characters in this game.
>>738068095The first game felt like magic, a comfy hiking simulator with some action in a deeply intriguing sci fi world and world class cinematic presentation and completely bat shit nonsense lore. The second game is more of the same, but there's a lot more Metal Gear and "video game" missions to do now. More weapons, more tools, more build variety. Lots of combat and stealth and boss fights to flex the tools. There's a lot less friction as well, you traverse much faster and gain access to traversal tools far quicker. Far less missions require you to actually use all of your tools and strand system to traverse the area on foot. I only had a few on-foot treks in DS2 that challenged me with environmental hazards, and they were mostly side missions. Compared to DS1 where you were consistently forced to carry items on your back and you were consistently tripping and falling down, especially before you have the exoskeletons
>>738068095>How does it compare to the first one?Worse in every aspect.
>>738072917I wanted vehicles to get massive nerfs and ziplines too. Instead the truck can literally go anywhere now. In 250 hours i havent managed to get a vehicle stuck on terrain anywhere because they have specifically made it so that vehicles can technically always jump out of a situation.Ziplines now bend and are even more overpowered. 1 click gameplay. And to top it all off we can now hoverboard around, and they are not expensive to fabricate.Oh and the terrain specifically having gaps in it that perfectly fit the width of the truck. It feels so artificial. In DS1 there were places where getting vehicles was possible but really tough, and you had the chance that the vehicle would get stuck for good.Kojima really did go for the braindead mode this time round.
>>738072704the endgame after 100% personal completion is helping others have an awesome experience by connecting with them plenty of other players lost cargo and aid requests to dofinishing other players structures and donating weapons and materials taking out camps on requestPutting helpful structures down etc you get to play for them, not for yourself for once
>>738071193>have you tried hitting their weak points or getting close with a shotgun?that's a pisstake, I am playing on ITW with optimal weapons but it doesn't detract from the fact that the neil is a horrific fight sequence that can be stunlocked with triple tap because poor design and the octopus only needed one fight to drill home how derivative 'glowing weak point' isit's clear you were playing on some bullshit cinematic mode kek>oh no, not a plethora of optional mechanics, this is not what i signed up forthey are not optional, they are poorly implemented, the odradek is supposed to elicit a sound which alerts nearby enemies to your batman vision, but does not. lethal kills are supposed to trigger a voidout if a BT finds the corpse (leading to mandatory corpse disposal) but the vast majority of the weapons you get do not kill>make traversal fun and engagingyeah, zipline networks are very engaging>it sounds like your a boring person playing the game in the most boring way possible typical ad hominem, you're not here to argue, just tout some holier-than-thou crusade of a mediocre sequelif vehicles had downsides the game would be quite good, but they do not>theyre barely in the gameyou fight neil several times (I think 4 or 5) in drawn-out sequences and higgs haunts the entire second half of the game, again, you have no clue that which you speaksterilize yourself asap
>>738073420Already done that for 30 hours or so post game. I have 300+ online lost cargo at the metagenomecist mine ready to get delivered around the map. There should have been Ranked Orders with their own cool rewards, like in DS1 DC.
>>738068095her legs and ankles are far from this thin
Anyone playing on Linux? I can't boot the game up anymore without it crashing after the last update. I'm 100 hours in and I'm pretty sure I'm in the last stretch so it's kind of a shame to lose my momentum. Also fuck the truck
It's same as the first game. Just with slightly better graphics.
>>738073375For me it was the bike, you can put a lot of cargo on the bike and then just wheelie through absolutely everything.
>>738073854Serves you right for not matching Dollman up with your Pizza costume. DEGENERATE......but really I hope you get it sorted bro
>>738068095I'm almost done, but skipped reading the thread to reply to avoid any possible spoilers so some points may be reiterated. It's okay, but a step down from the first game. You'll enjoy it if you liked the first DSThere's hardly a plot, and instead, you're whipped into returning to a hub ship incessantly to see Kojima's two new ugly celebrity crushesbounce around in another wholesome chungus scene that leaves Sam doing an awkward smile in silence on the periphery. Only after each Tomorrow/Rainy heartwarming moment are you allowed to take a Main OrderI don't think Norman Reedus has had more than 200, maybe even 100 lines in the story dialogue in the 50 hours I've played. The deliveries are about the same including the pain of inconsistent cargo damage. This time however you do get a rad surfboard that's fun when you're allowed to use it in the Chiral Network. What little combat exists is very fun if easy, and the bosses are great spectacles if too easy on To the Wilder difficulty. One final specific gripe, but the music integration for deliveries is much more frequent and poorly done, lacking any real emotional catharsis or impact like the first title. God willing this is the last time I will ever see Elle Fanning in my life
>>738068095Cute white woman
>>738074803She is nice enough but has obviously overt baby face unfortunately. Maybe it might get a bit better when she hits the wall, who knows. She is really nice in game however, especially witht he Chiral gold "make-up" seeping out of her.
>>738074557>and the bosses are great spectacles if too easy on To the Wilder difficulty.no dude did you not hear? every boss on TWW is a bullet sponge and you should seethe and shid about it instead of figuring out what youre doing wrong
>>738071497apparently this is a glitch and tall grass shouldnt spawn like thatfucking awesome glitch
>>738075042its using the Horizon Engine. In horizon forbidden west there was a similar bug. Also was present in DS1.
>>738073420This is a description of literally every MMO.
>>738068095Nude mods?
>>738074557Not him but is there actually less story than the first one? I dropped the first one like midway through cause the gameplay was boring and picked it up again only to rush through the story which was worth it.
>>738077376story is worse than 1, but not excessively bad
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is not a video game. It's Kojima's $100 million excuse to hang out with Hollywood celebrities while you hold the left stick forward for 40 hours. Almost every location has a flat path straight to it. You can make any delivery by holding forward or driving a truck. Congratulations, you just experienced "gameplay." The game throws numerous tools at you that you absolutely never need. It's like being handed a Swiss Army knife to eat soup — the equivalent of playing Doom where enemies fall down without you ever pulling the trigger. But the crown jewel — the absolute proof Kojima doesn't make games — is the "Pretend You Won" button. Die to a boss and the game literally asks if you want to skip it. Pick it and you get a SLIDESHOW of how the fight would have played out. The results screen reads "Imaginary Victory" with a drawing of Sam sleeping. Even the protagonist doesn't care. No game should let you skip core combat. That's not accessibility — that's a confession. That's Kojima saying "gameplay doesn't matter, just watch my movie." The single greatest evidence he's NOT a game developer — just a film director accidentally given a dev kit instead of a camera.Did this cinematic walking screensaver win GOTY? NO. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 — an actual VIDEO GAME with actual GAMEPLAY — bodied Kojima's celebrity meet-and-greet simulator at The Game Awards, Golden Joysticks, DICE, and GDC, racking up 291 GOTY wins in 2025.But don't worry — his own game taught us the solution. He can just Pretend He Won. Skip the awards, read a little slideshow that says "Kojima won GOTY" with a picture of him sleeping. Imaginary Victory. Kojima — put down the controller. Pick up the camera. Stick to making movies. You clearly want to. You were never one of us.
