Xbox is best controller I’ve used but PS3 had the best joysticks. They had enough range of movement that you could be fluid and didn’t have to keep making micro adjustments.

So if you use it with a cable it'll be fine as opposed to a problem. While dual shock 4 is ok, the port can wear out. I had to get a charger for mine. Forgot about that. Have fun. When you spend more money you get a better product. The best controllers are actually made by a type of controller manufacturer working out of his own garage, basically like a modern day blacksmith. Hes much more skilled than the average production line mass produced cheap worker, he’s also much more expensive. He would be your best bet at designing the perfect controller with zero latency and dead zones and low weight and ergonomic designs etc. but it’ll be like $100,000 to make. If you spend 100 times that, and 10 million dollars, your controller will be even better. It just keeps improving until around the $500 billion mark.

Nearly every controller has the face buttons on the upper outside, which means your muscle memory transfers all the way back to a SNES generally. However only the WiiU and the Steam Controller 1.0 put the button cluster lower and inside and it was less than desirable (Steam controller also changed the dimensions of the buttons themselves which made it worse) but its not a great idea. There's a reason that after the Wii Classic Controller / Pro before and the Switch Pro and Switch 2 Pro after, even Nintendo went back to it. Valve learned significantly that it benefited with the Steam Deck layout and that's part why the Steam Controller 2.0 is arranged in a Deck-ish layout.
