Almost all games are like this. The only exceptions are extremely simple games like platformers or souls games where the player has close to 0 skill expression or progression so there's no opportunity for any kind of exploitation.

I was thinking of God of War 2018 because the enemy stats are fucked high so it takes forever to win a basic fight early in the game, then you get to the shop and it's easy to abuse the RPG bullshit to make the game piss easy again.

I like that if the overpowered things require intent, like stacking bonuses. Then I can avoid doing it if I don’t feel the need, but have the option to get around a difficulty spike. I don’t like challenging endgames because I’m usually sick of it by the end
