I just finished Apollo Justice and I'm about to start Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth. What am I in for? What did I think of AA4?
You're in for a fun change of pace only improved upon in the sequel.
>>738115735Drew Studio and borscht club were total kino atmosphere and stories. Also I liked the Chud vs Chad dynamic between Apollo and Klavier, unfortunately the whole game was half-baked.
>>738115735Kinda dull game. Maybe in the moment it won't be noticeable, but after you go through it, and especially after Investigations 2, it will be very noticeable.
>>738115735i tried getting into this game but i found that case in the theme park impossible to understand
AA7 doko
Kay is cute, but only really useful for her device. If you know what I mean
>>738115981>a fun change of paceI recently replayed the first AA game and oh god, the pace become so much worse in later games. Investigations is 2nd from the bottom only because TGAA1 takes the cake with its stupid jury system that just slows down everything.
It's Kino except for the last part of the last case, it feels like it drags on for too long. 2nd game is 10/10, I used fan translation on a 3DS but you can simply run it via DS emulator or get the official PC port.
>>738119923>or get the official PC port.the PC port has malware, a worse translation and that judge character in your pic has a worse voice than the fan translation rom.
>>738119923>2nd game is 10/10how so, when it has the worst assistant ever.
Investigations 1 is the second worst AA game, only beaten by the absolute dogshit that is DGS1Investigations 2 is the best game in the franchise, but I do not know how good the official english release is since I've only played the fan translation
>>738120339>the worst assistant ever.I see what you did here
>>738120536very funny, but no. Kay in AAI2 is dogshit, even now she makes me recoil in disgust.
>>738120420It's impossible for an AA game to be worse than the absolute atrocity that is Apollo Justice.
I mean folx...Wheres the lie?
>>738120603Why? I just don't remember her doing anything in AAI2 except having amnesia and being lusted by ShieldsI disliked Trucy in AJ more thanks to the panties jokes. Oh also Iris entrie character was an utter joke.
>>738115735>Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth.I liked it
>>738115981After it was talked up constantly as the best game in the series I can say that Investigations 2 is the most overrated game of all time that I've ever played. Literally even more baby mode than the first one. It's absolutely not bad but holy fuck it's not even top 5 in the Ace Attorney series.
>>738121253>it's not even top 5 in the Ace Attorney series. How do you rate other games then
>>738119837Turning the Judge in an actual character who can even testify was some genuine kino. Why the fuck can't we give him a name though, let him be an actual person with his own history and whatnot.
>>738121838Judge is his name and judging courtrooms is his game
>>738121071her character arc ended with AAI1, so her dialogues are all related to thieving and stealing despite never doing anything. It's very annoying and she was obviously put it because it was the second chapter of the Edgeworth saga. Gumshoe alone would have made for a better sidekick.
>>738120313>a worse translationAre you still mad they named him Winner instead of DeBeste?
>>738121859Wouldn't be surprised if somebody in AA universe is literally called "Judge".
>>738121071Trucy does do way more in AJ(even in 4-2 itself, by pulling Mr. Hat to force a recess), for some reason DD makes her regress into doing panties jokes all the time instead, but SoJ does do something nice.No idea what you mean with Iris there, she is not an assistant at any point, she spends most of the case in the detention center.
>>738121838If they give him a name then he'll become BBEG
>>738122139Stronghart is more like Gant, but there again the same case had the japanese judge involved.
>>738122212Nah, Stronghart was the judge and lead the last case in the TGAA2, Gant was the chief of the police and the witness at best.>but there again the same case had the japanese judge involved.Yeah, a named judge who also turned out to be a criminal - which proves my point
>>738122112>Trucy does do way more in AJIt's not about how much she's does, it's about how she does it. Trucy was quite annoying assistant in AJ and the entire subplot about finding panties was awful. In DD, she doesn’t have nearly as many stupid jokes simply because she's almost non-existent in the game. >No idea what you mean with Iris there, she is not an assistant at any point,Not really, she assisted with some investigations and took on roles that usually assistant handles. Anyway, Iris entire character seems out of place, even Gina would have worked way better instead.
>>738122781>and the entire subplot about finding panties was awfulIt was funny, fuck you.for some reason I thought you meant T&T Iris. The DGS one is just fine but kinda eh, other than being a cute loli. Pearls is the better loli and it's not even fucking close.
Come to think of it, we really need a loli who actually tries. How's Pearls still completely uncontested and somehow still better at being a loli even when she's now an adult?
>>738122880The best Pearls is Pearls channeling Mia
>>738123337Takumi was quite based, immediately going for this as soon you introduce another spirit medium girl.
>>738123310Loli Fran was cute, but they gave us only 1 case with her. Loli Athena was good and had a lot of potential, but they wasted it.Only Rayfa can restore balance now
>>738123486There was an attempt with Rayfa, gotta admit. Not loli enough tho.Pearls works as well as it does because her entire character is genuinely that. Even as a grown up.
>>738123603They definitely needed to try April's gimmick again. Straight trying to seduce people in court, not even playing innocent(that's more like Dahlia), or just being an airhead(that's Ini, though April leans into that).
>>738123580>Not loli enough thoFiiiiine, we can have Sarge too
>>738123772Actually good one, almost as powerful.
>>738115735it's good but investigations 2 is the best in the series. just power through this one
>>738115735AAI > AAI2AAI2 throws away all what Edgeworth has accomplished and the final suspect is way better IMHO. Both of them just keep saying "NUH UH" At least the first one has EXTRATERRITORIAL RIGHTS bullshit
>>738123823She is
>>738123902
>>738115735i never played DS. But the girl i dated in Hong Kong for a year loved the Beat Street Agents game and she gave the greatest blowjobs on the planet; she had that snake tongue that could wrap around your dick then when you cum she swallows half of the load and used the other half as lubricant to make you cum again and she would just do this all day long and you'd have to rip her face off your lap to get her to stop and the entire time she's just saying "more! more!" in her Cantonese accent.Since everyone knows OP is a cock sucking faggot i think you should play Beat Street Agents instead.
>>738123310Pearl is dahlia’s sister
>>738121253It's the distinction between normal fans and the anime crowd IMO.A lot of people saying I2 is the best in the series don't comprehend the qualities of "enjoyable storytelling" versus "a story with a deep plot."I2 only gets so much praise because people think everything is better the more "plot" there is in a game, but I don't even think T&T was better than the original game to begin with, and I actually prefer the games that run "Filler case, filler case, filler case, STORY case" like the first game and Justice For All does. How storytelling works in Ace Attorney is less about the narrative being interwoven through all cases, and more about building up certain characters over the span of a series of self-contained cases, until you've built them up enough so that you can raise the stakes with a more personal Final case, where things become dramatic. You can throw in hints throughout the game towards anyone's involvement in the plot that unravels the final case, but the quality of these games come almost solely from how well the central cast is written and how well each individual case is strung together. And I2 doesn't speak to that, because it's a game that neglects good writing for central characters, like Eddie Fender or the Gavel lady being kind of insufferable, every bit as much as someone like "Datz" in Ace Attorney 6. These attempted "Larry Butz" and "Edgeworth" characters who don't quite land, but weeb fans think it's "amazing" because the plot was interwoven.Instead you have really silly individual cases that are sometimes fun to solve, until the characters talk ad nauseum about details that don't fucking matter, like the writer is forgetting the character he's writing for and just speaking directly to you, trying to explain his retarded puzzle logic, where someone hung up a victim into a flag, and then ziplined the flag into a sewer pipe, and then it looks like Mario jumps out of the sewer but it's actually the victim in the flag cloth.
>>738125252Vera Misham clone character.
god i hate DGS
>>738125603That she is. And I noticed she changed her pose to one that resembles Iris in DD.
>>738115735I enjoyed this game a lot when I played it when I was like 12, but I haven't felt a desire to go back and play it. I'll probably get around to playing AAI2 eventually.
>>738125838>I'll probably get around to playing AAI2 eventually.Play it RIGHTNOW! It's the best AA game for god sake
>>738126000>best AA game But that's obviously the firstNo really, I mean it. Original AA hits way better than even T&T imo, especially because it doesn't need to get that convoluted. But T&T is second place.
>>738126532TT is on top only until the hype wears down and then people think about how case 5 didn't make any sense.
>>738126772You have to suspend disbelief more to disprove 3-5 than to accept it
>>738115735AA1 is good, AA2 has 2 cases in turnabout big top tier, and the other 3 dont carry
>>7381267723-5 was exceptionally good on vibes, but yea if somebody tried to pass that as a genuine mystery puzzle where things are supposed to make a certian degree of logical sense, lol lmao even. Convoluted for the sake of, and not very sensible even on a characterization level.By comparison 1-4 doesn't have this problem. Not using 1-5 here, you know why, everyone knows why. Though I found that case to be painful on a replay especially, very glaring pacing issues that you don't have in 3-5.
>>738126772What's more retarded:>Misty, I need you to channel Dahlia, who is already dead, so I can save the day by killing her and you.Or>Great idea!
>>738126858Godot could have just blocked the plan from reaching Pearl and there was nothing Morgan could do about it. Then somehow got Misty to go along with it, killed her in front of Maya after Dahlia tried to murder her and ultimately caused almost all the main characters to almost freeze to death on a snowy mountain at night. And to top it off, somehow, Maya tried to protect him in court and Mia is all cool with him and like what the actual fuck
>>738127126>>738126998I can take that Godot went full retard since the plot is basically that he was so completely consumed by Mia's death that he wasn't really acting rationally at all.But Misty has no fucking excuse.
