What is /v/'s stance on the My Time At... games?
It's okay
>>738118024I don't play tranny shit.
>>738118024>That Time I Used Sandpaper on my Cock>My Time with Progeria
>>738118024My stance: mating press Heidi.
I didn't play Portia. I enjoyed Sandrock but there was a bit too much ruin diving / mining for my taste. Also, as odd as this may sound I feel like playing as anything other than default Max/Lucy was super strange due to the way the other characters interact with and address them.
Unironically way too much game. It just keeps going on and on and on and
>>738118024Ah, Catori, my beloved. Bought the game for her. Too bad Evershine looks like hot garbage.
>>738119307Nah, they're cooking with Evershine.
Here is your artstyle for the sequel. Hope you rike it ahaha
>>738118024Portia is jank, but good. Sandrock is an improvement in every concievable way. Waiting for Evershine
>>738119107>playing as anything other than default Max/Lucy was super strange due to the way the other characters interact with and address them. What the fuck did you mean by this?
>>738119593It's fine. I liked Portia despite it's buttugly artstye. Evershine is generic, but nowhere near as ugly
>>738119535Hot damn
>>738119535I hoep she's not an annoying treehugger like Elsie
>>738119668The dialogue choices and the way other characters talk to yours feels like they're holding a conversation with Max, not (you)r OC. I don't know how else to explain this.
>>738119050
>>738120463Nigger, you don't get to edit your backstory. There is literally no difference between your character and this 'max' person
>>738120584Whatever you low IQ nigger. Just play as default Max/Lucy. You'll thank me later.
GIWTWM
The "WEG" of Harvest Moon-type games.
Not enough Nia posting.
>>738118024Pure fucking soul, I was genuinely surprised to find out it was a chinese studio.I never got into stardew, but Sandrock just felt right and I genuinely got attached to most of the cast Except the 2 most popular romances for women funny enoughI struggled to pick a romance, but went with Nia and never looked backI was kinda iffy on the design direction for Evershine, but once again theres been a surprising amount of soul poured into it and I am looking forward to it more with every update
>>738118024It's kino, and dare I say, soulfulPortia was uncanny but Sandrock was legitimately one of the best homestead-type games I have ever playedLove my wife Mi-ann
I found Sandrock comfy. I had lost a relative and wanted something chill to immerse myself in. Found it quite relaxing, sitting back and listening to Don Ross while playing. I think Evershine looks great.
>>738121880Logan was ok. Fang was cringe. I literally couldn't care less about his childhood trauma
>>738121880>but once again theres been a surprising amount of soul poured into it and I am looking forward to it more with every updateIs it in beta already?
>>738122173There is/was a play test for kickstarter backers. I've not played in a while since I don't want to burn myself out and just follow the blogs
>>738122305Well, what were your general thoughts (besides the art style). Does the game still flow more or less similarly to Sandrock? Character relationships? Resource gathering? Combat?
why didn't the devs include auto advancing dialogue in a game with almost full voice-acting is beyond me.
>>738122356When I played there was only about 2/3 hours of content and maybe 3 or 4 story relevant characters, so bear that in mind>Companions play more of a role and actually feel helpful>The setting is quite gorgeous>The core mechanic seems to be town building, instead of just homesteading. This is both good and bad, as I think hand crafted environments are more soulful than player placed pre-fabs, but its nice being able to arrange the town the way you want to>The writing feels about on par with Sandrock, and pacing wise is likely similar, so I expect it will be a slow burn story that you can enjoy at your own pace>However because of the more serious art style, I feel like the jokes miss a bit more, I think they would struggle to have characters like Yann or Burgess for comedic relief>Gameplay felt quite tight, combat seems to have a much bigger role so they streamlined it a fair bitThe playtest was fairly short on content so these are fairly surface level critiques. I think so long as you enjoyed sandrock, you will likely enjoy evershine
>>738122658>combat seems to have a much bigger role so they streamlined it a fair bitHow can you even streamline the already basic as fuck combat the first two games had?
>>738122658where are we now and what's our character's role in the story? I really enjoyed Sandrock because you're this do-it-all guy trying to turn this doomed project of a shithole desert settlement into a success
>>738122792Maybe streamlined isn't the right wording, less of a chore. Also your companion actually helps instead of being background noise>>738122810Set on the duvos border, you are some military cadet who will lead a team to settle and build up a town on the border to strengthen/fortify the border. Your starting party is some qt chink admin girl and a goofy forgettable dude. The red headed himbo from >>738121135 shows up in the playtest but I dont think any other romance options appear
>>738118024I love SandrockI can't wait for Evershine
>>738122972>Set on the duvos borderjesus fucking christ
No wedding dressNo buy
>>738118024Portia was kinda ass, didn't finish it.I thoroughly enjoyed Sandrock and was a little sad when I completed it.It's just fun mindless checkbox-ticking gameplay and all the townsfolk are just (too) friendly and shit.Pity the combat is also mindless mobile-tier garbage, but at least it's so easy it doesn't get bothersome.>>738121451Nia's hair color being completely different from her photos/2D art bothered me so much, I learned how to mod and tweaked it.It's up on Nexus mods, but you have to jump through a whole bunch of hoops to install it which kinda sucks.
>>738119107>>738120463>>738120709nta, also don't understand what you meant by thiseveryone calls you "builder" regardless, so why does it matter?the names max and lucy don't appear anywhere outside the character creation screen
>>738120709I genuinely do not get this anon
>>738118024>go on a date with the bimbo-spic waitress>"The Duvos' soldiers look so manly! I want to visit there someday!"10/10 didnt know we had some much in common with out asian brothers
>>738122972>The red headed himboMy money's on him being the leader of the local bandits. he's got the same silhouette, and these games love their traitor characters
>>738123315>all the townsfolk are just (too) friendly and shit.We must have played a different game. Sandrock has good characters.
>>738124405Too friendly as in the game having annoying mechanics like 4-5 of them showing up in front of your house to play every morning (even more annoying when a cutscene/quest starts playing through it) and stopping whatever they are doing to yell hello at you from across the street. It basically goes from friendship to cult-like worshipping really fast.
>>738120709Based. Death to self inserters.
>>738125176This wasn't about self-inserting you dumb nigger.
>>738118024I played Portia when it was free on EGS, and while it was rough I enjoyed it quite a bit. Probably picking up Sandrock when I next get the urge for that type of gameplay. Not a fan of deserts normally, but I'm sure I'll still have fun
>>738126009I don't understand this pic, can someone translate to English?
>>738126119She wishes she was a cotton-picking slave to a white man who also took her to bed when he felt like it
>>738120532Kek, underrated
I played portia but quickly reached unfunny levels of grinding and resource crafting was way too slow
>>738126416Sandrock somehow fixed it. In Portia I had to run 6 or 7 smelters of various sizes, at least two of cutting/grinding tables, and it was never enough until I could build the factory. In Sandrock I had only one of every bench and two smelters, never had to worry about materials.
>>738126558Too much carbon steel was needed in Portia. I was glad they did away with it in Sandrock
>>738126416It's not that bad in Sandrock, although the game has some weird balance issues between the various tiers of materials (like you hardly need any hardwood but do need stupid amounts of bloodstone compared to other gems)
>>738118024I don't remember he name now, but I married the nurse in portiaI haven't started sandrock yet
>>738126416At some point in Sandrock you can pay for contracts to get daily deliveries of scrap/ores/gems which really takes out a lot of grind, especially for lower tier stuff.
>>738118024Played Portia and I liked it, though imo it couldn't compare with old Harvest Moon games. Little interactions, you don't feel each waifu is treated the same (content wise). Still good even when the girl I picked fucking DIES a few years in (I know they added the lights thing. But that was after I played it).Haven't tried Sandrock yet.
Can someone post the image of the comparison between the early NPCs vs the ones that were developed later chronologically? Shit's hilarious.
>>738126821Sandrock is less grindy in general. They fixed the relic hunt as well. I was never able to finish the museum in Portia because a few relic pieces would never show up in ruins or the museum trading board. Sandrock fixed it by splitting ruins into levels and locking relics to specific floors.
>>738126683Phyllis
>>738126960>Still good even when the girl I picked fucking DIES a few years inwhat the fuck were they thinking
>>738126960That just meant the Sandrock builder linked to your session fucked up.
>>738126119
>>738126683>waaahhhh people oly like me for my body waaaahhh"career" women are a joke. needless to say she gave me the 'ick>>738127076>dr syphilis>>738126960why would anyone choose the cripple other than to marry into money? (and that means shit in Portia)
>>738127314>why would anyone choose the cripple
>>738127314>why would anyone choose the crippleCause she is cute?
>>738118024COOPEROOPER
You guys think they made the right decision to go from Maple Story graphics to Pixar graphics?
>"Please bleach us white man!"
>>738127579Sandrock is absolutely the happy medium. Portia has some awkward faces and animations, but Evershine just looks so damn generic
>>738127639Evershine still looks good to me but I feel like Sandrock struck that balance between cartoony and realistic just right.
k-pop kyaaaa~ slop
>>738127579Absolutely no. And a women (females) is to blame.
>>738127579No, it will destroy the series in the long run. Go to steam and see who is defending the new style. It's almost exclusively roasties who hadn't played Portia or Sandrock and latched on to Evershine because of its new artstyle. Chinks already made it clear that they prefer the nu-fanbase over people who played their previous games.
>>738127639>>738127698It just enters that weird uncanny valley place where the cartoony mining/building/fighting animations don't mesh well with the realistic proportions
>>738127973Guess I won't be buying Evershine, then
>>738128150I buy everything on rutracker anyway. I'll give it a try but I don't think it will be as enjoyable as Sandrock. Much of the humor and bants that carried Sandrock might be gone or just won't hit right with the new roastie romantasy artstyle.
>>738128134True, but it also becomes less memorable when you can't pick it out in a lineup because it looks like 15 other games
>>738119535
>>738119535FUCK
>>738128253I pirated Sandrock and played it for a good while before purchasing. I'll do the same with Evershine if the soul's still there and won't if they're tipping too much towards the "appeal to a wider audience" part of the scale. Chinese fujos are batshit insane and I don't want to support anything that caters to that.
i liked sandrock and portia, will pick this up even if i dont like the art style as much. any other kino games like these out there?
>>738121135Game for this feel?!
>>738123253Literally every life sim with marriages make sure to dress your spouse with a wedding dress at your weddingWhat were they thinking?
>>738130285SDV doesn't
>>738120532Based
>>738130631Yes it does
>>738128858I will pirate it twice the amount of times you buy evershine
>>738118024i loved both, portia is janky but you feel the soul in the game while playing it, sandrock basically x10 portia and make its looks like a beta in comparison, im not really sure with the new evershine art style, but eh, I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
>>738119535I hope they make her browner
>>738127639>>738127639These. Sandrock's masculine males don't look like k-pop fuckboys compared to the muscular redhead guy in Evershine.
>no anthro modsDropped!
>>738131769yikes
>>738132673yikes indeed, no furry mods in 2026 is embarrassing. Guess I'll be sticking with Stardew
