You would have to be sleep deprived and drunk like I was playing ch4 to fail a scripted boss like the titan. It's my biggest gripe with it.Undertale wasn't particularly challenging but it also wasn't as braindead as Deltarune. Saves were decently far apart, healing items weren't everywhere, shops weren't everywhere, currency wasn't so abundant, inventory was more limited, 4-5 hits was usually enough to kill you. Agency vs Fate is a pretty heavy theme I’ve only seen the Japanese have the right sensibilities to handle it in a video game, and considering Toby Fox is a total weeb, he’s one of the only Westerners to be able to bridge that gap between JRPG and CRPG. And even then even if you delete the story it’s a pretty damn good game, the RPG mechanics are shallow but humorous enough to make you wanna fight enemies, the bullet hell is genius.But back to storytelling, it’s the best definition of “Lynchian”, rarely do games ever have the boldness to do some crazy shit with their storytelling, and I love, love DT for it and I hate HATE that people would rather discuss shipslop, because it’s such low hanging fruit.
