The characters are all one dimensional except for Balthier and Basche. The combat system is more of an auto-battler than anything else, and no I'm not talking about the gambit system, I mean that 90% of your actions come from auto attacking with a few abilities here and there strewn in. IZJS actively makes the game even worse because it solves a "problem" in the original that never exists - rather than having unlimited freedom to build your characters as you see fit, every other fucking retard just made their characters red mages and then complained about it. The result is IZJS wherein majority of classes functionally do LITERALLY nothing or fall off heavily by late game. Not to mention the story that couldn't figure out if it wanted to be FFT or Crystalbearer shit, and boringly straddles the middle ground resulting in a mishmashed story with terrible pacing where it pingpongs back and forth between political melodrama and magic maguffins that ultimately culminates in an utterly dogshit second half with an abrupt ending again a villain majority of the cast have never met nor have any reason to care about. I'd rather play 13, at least that game has a fun post-game.

They could have done the same general moves but had you land between hits so you get the feeling of jumping back up into the air as you swing instead of just weightlessly wiggling.
