It's Musou. If you liked this one you should give the PS2 game a try. It's translated and the weight of the sword feels better. The dismemberment is better too. It's just Guts though.

Yeah I played that one when it came out, on a white Jap PS2 I imported.
The musou game also has a lot of soul and the sword feels great for a Koei game.
