The fact they go "fixing" it by making it completely different marks a point in the franchise where they clearly do not care or abandoned that initial identity which is not only an insult to my intelligence but the intelligence of the developer. This is then doubled down in the "recovery" sequel, where out of desperation the developer copes by making it what the last game should have been the whole time. Like if you actually knew to do that and didn't do it initially, who are you fooling? Oh you finally listened to the fans? Why did you have to when you made the original game?
