I never really used magnums in any of the games. Every time I had one I'd hoard ammo to save it for emergencies or bosses but always had enough to never needed it. So giving you a magnum at the beginning for Leon and then being the holdout weapon for Grace was a pretty cool idea.

My dad had this .45-70 pistol, about 3x the kick compared to 10mm with smokeless.45-70, because of the weird deer hunting laws in my state. I've fired it singlehanded, standing without a sandbag more times than I can count and I'm a dyel auschwitz mode skelly. You just have to brace yourself a tiny bit. It's an absolute blast to bring it to the range because people see me loading a slug the size of a sausage into a handgun and gape in awe. Everyone always wants to give it a go.
