This is honest to God one of the best shooters I've played in years. I have put 90 good hours into it from the sale and after being enticed by some videos on the tube after laughing at Sony scandal after scandal pre-launch. It's honestly a goddamn miracle this game came out as good as it is, so I think I'll post my Steam review hereI have done mostly everything in the normal maps, and most priority contract except the tech-based runner body manufacturer that are super hard. I have done some vaults but lack 4 of them and Compiler. I have played both solo and in triosIt's extremely weird as I game. I got into it under the assumption it was Halo but Swat. The TTK, especially with no shields and bubbles and revives early on kinda seems to suggest you have to play it like Red Orchestra or Tarkov.That's completely wrong. The best teams are super aggressive, not just depending on the class but in general you have to be aggressive, punish players for healing, capitalize on the enemy slipping during fights.Staying hidden is very hard, and top players have the mobility, upgrades and gear to just avoid getting caught and instantly die to ratting most of the time.The map is littered with reapawning drones, scanning devices, noisemakers, etc... Stealth is like 30% of the game instead of 90%. Even with a noob team ambushing pros, the pros will likely win if they play their cards right and the noobs suckThere's also a very strict time limit. This time limit really pushes you, even a single run going well can net fuck all if you fail to exfil. (Cryo is a bitch, the exfil doesn't even appear on the map unless you find some terminal or something, always got carried through Cryo or lost)Overall it's a great base package. I don't know how in depth the story is because I need Codex entries.They would really nail it if they did some kind of subfaction wars, like contracts that put 3 crews working for a faction against 3 other crews working for another faction and competing.

You generally never want to stay in a corner and allow your enemy to gain ground against you and maneuver. Again, youre describing a very common FPS trope and pretending Bungie invented it.

FPS games reward aggression. Only shitters stay in a corner and that rule applies for most shooters. Allowing the enemy to decide when and where to take ground is a losing game.
