The lack of a full controller to compliment the trackpads and the traditional controls not being the front-and-center objects you were supposed to use meant you were using gyro and trackpads way more often than you really should be. It was more useful for KB/M games than for console ports for obvious reasons. Valiant first attempt, and still has a pretty dedicated remapping community, but not a great experience
