Is it me or does playing pirated video games not feel as "fun" as when you purchase legitimate game licences?

Like, because I didn't actually pay for permission to play the game, I don't feel like I earned my experience. Or that the game technically isn't "mine" to enjoy.
>>
I think it's just that you wouldn't pay for a game you didn't wanna play (at least full priced) whereas you will pirate any old slop
Then there's the social aspect, you want your steam friends to see you playing the latest fotm slop fomo
>>
That only happens because modern games are slop. Nobody had this issue when pirating Chrono Trigger.
>>
>>738153545
It's because you weren't actually interested in it and only got it because it was free
>>
>>738153674
That's a different beast because you might have the issue playing Chrono trigger because you can pirate 20,000 retro games in 2 seconds then you just have overwhelming choices

Nigga you betta stop playin before someone takes your ass seriously.

To me it sounds like you are a massive faggot.
Every second I play a pirated game, I relish at the thought that a dev is going home to his starving family, telling his malnourished children that the reason they can not afford food is because that one anon (me) is playing a pirated game, instead of a paid one.

Yeah, people with Steam backlogs complain about abundunce saturation, but the ability to just vacum up every vidya in existance at no cost realy does create an unmanagable mess.

It was a very short lived campaign because everybody made fun of it. According to Wikipedia, it was only on DVDs released in 2004. I remember it being on the DVD for "A Series of Unfortunate Events"

>Is it me or does playing pirated video games not feel as "fun" as when you purchase legitimate game licences?

That's completely psychological. Many people have difficulty accepting they just wasted their money so their brains trick them into "enjoying" the game.

The games I've probably got the most most playtime in are MGSV (1000's of hours trying to perfect stealth all missions), XCOM enemy within, XCOM 2 wotc and RE2 remake and their all pirated.

I dropped Pragmata* (pirated) on the 4th level, because it's absolutely fucking tedious with an annoying ass game mechanic (hacking). I'm half convinced most people who finished it only did so to justify their purchase to themselves.

tl:dr it's psychological and not everyone is susceptible to it.

> Pirating since 1998
It really does feel so fucking cool when ever I show my son how to score free computer games, after growing up in the 1990s and my parents not being able to afford them when I was growing up.
>>
>>738153545
1. Pirating games means you do it in bulk; literally thousands of games become accrssible to you and decision paralysis kicks in, along with thinking about other games while playing one.

2. Not playing on original hardware with the intended controller or things like frame rate (if certain aspects are tied to frame rate) can make it less than ideal. Mario Sunshine will always feel better with the Gamecubes orgasmic triggers

Other than those two things, no absolutely not.

Games dont feel as fun if i dont have a physical copy to play, but playing digital copies always feels better if its free.
>>
>>738153545
Pirated, non-pirated, what's the difference with digital games?
Pirates are better off because Sony ir Gabe or whoever can't just revoke the license to the game you are 'indefinitely renting' when they feel like it.

Now, for me, my autism compels me to play all games only on original hardware with official, physical software.
When I wanted to play Barroque last year, for example, I bought a Sega Saturn.
If I had a great time.
Plus Sony can't revoke my ability to play Gitaroo Man unless they break into my house.

>I think it's just that you wouldn't pay for a game you didn't wanna play (at least full priced) whereas you will pirate any old slop
This basically. I used to pirate every game I played and ended up buying the ones that I liked so at one point I stopped pirating games (other than to try them out first) and just bought them because I was gonna do it eventually and I'd rather have them on steam for convenience sake and achievements.

Literally the only reason I still pay for games and play on console, that and my attention span is fucked I can't play big story based games in a desk chair

when you buy a game you gaslight yourself into believing it's good when it isn't and you force yourself to finish it because it costs you money.
When you pirate it you have no buyers bias so a hood game will be good and a bad game will be bad no matter how much you try to shill it to yourself by believing you actually made a sound investment.
Buyfags literally cuck themselves into enjoying shit because they paid for it.
Pirate chads see gaems for what they are.
There is a reason why review codes are given for free.

I've got to hand it to Gabe, I've pirated practically nothing that's on Steam. Even of my purchases, literally the only thing I regret paying for was Fall Guys. He was dead accurate that piracy is a service problem. I'm still a pirate, but typically just for retro shit nowadays.
