I always struggle getting sleepy when I play video games because they keep me up. Is there any game I can play that induces sleepiness?

Disco Elysium
It's a glorified book so low engagement. The boredom will put you to sleep in no time.

Just step away from the screen fucker. If you can't step away from the screen seek help and go to addiction therapy.

Rimworld.
I have 1000s of hours in it and its the perfect alt-tab, speed 1, "never have to click or do anything" idle game.
You just build a little base and your dudes do their thing.

W-what is gonna happen to me anons?
I'm 38, now a wagefag trying to get some money in my bank account after being a wet for almost morethan 30 years.
Work is not that hard, commute is what is killing me, and also REAL toxic environment at work.
I feel I'm sleep deprived, but even trying to nap on the train does not help.
I know I'm gonna die, but why like this? Life is shit.

If they really want elderly people to die earlier it should be 5-6 hours instead of the 8.5 they actually require.

No it's not normal. Addicts get anxious if they don't have their shit nearby. A drunk man will feel unsafe without a bottle, in fear of sobering up.
I've been on therapy myself after 7 years of drug use. You will be scared and anxious when trying to quit. The healing process is literally just understanding where the anxiety comes from and what you're running away from and then dealing with it. Learning to deal with your emotions.
Addiction is emotion dysfunction. You use the easy way out.

Sadly it's pretty normal. Maybe start by reading some ebooks in darkmode. Something easy like the Dresden Files. You can get a lot of them from your local library.

Bright light of the screen keeps you up. Use some app that shifts the color balance to lower blue light.

Put your phone in another room. Or at the very least on a table on the other side of your room from your bed. Im serious man just do it. I know it’s hard but it gets easier after a few weeks. Once i did it my issue with falling back asleep after waking disappeared completely

8 hours of sleep is a corporate psyop. It’s literally a meme used to justify the 40 hour work week. Most people would feel much better at 10 hours of sleep per night

I've always had issues with my sleep. I never slept more than 5-6 hours a night most of my life, teenage years I'd go 2 days without it quite often.
Hit 35 and boom. Fucking hypersomnia lmao, I now sleep around 13-18 hours every day and still feel tired when I'm awake.
>>
Day 1 of fixing my sleep schedule.
Sick of staying up to 1am on work nights and getting up 10min before I start my shift.
Got up at 6:30 this morning and fighting the urge for a nap, gunna try and fall asleep at 10 tonight listening to Dwarf Fortress lets plays
>>
>>738170201
I have insomnia so I'm lucky if I get 4 hours.
>>
>>738173094
>I now sleep around 13-18 hours every day and still feel tired when I'm awake.
You got old and Sleep Apnea kicked in, same thing happened to me.
I suddenly started sleeping 13 hours each night and waking up exhausted.
Paid $40 to do an at-home test for Sleep Apnea and I turns out that was the cause.
Govt paid for a CPAP machine and I've been set ever since.
>>
>>738171641
The fuck? If I go to sleep I way up 3 or 4.5 hours later and I feel great. I haven't slept more then 4.5 hours in one night in decades. Go to sleep without an alarm and you'll wake up when your body is ready.

I always take over an hour to fall asleep. I bust my ass for ten hours and I still just toss and turn half the night

Pretty sure the +10 hours of sleep only applies if you're a wagie. As a NEET I never sleep more than 6 hours and my schefule only gets messed up if I take a nap during the day, which comes more out of boredom than actually feeling tired.
>>
>>738173493

bro if I can afford to be a NEET I would try to use all that free time to learn a new skill.
I wish I am drawing girls right now.

Then your body needs 10 hours.

Sun goes down at 6pm and rises at 6am. Try popping a really small dose, half a pill of melatonin at 6pm. Prepare to sleep at 9 or 10pm. Know that it's not a catastrophe if you can't fall asleep, but just lay there in a dark and cool bedroom (have sunlight blocking curtains). Give yourself a set time you'll sleep or just lay there, then get up when the first alarm hits.

First thing in the morning after morning routine, go outside to take walk (or any other exercise). Have a heavy breakfast. Have a good dinner before 6pm.

I've done the 'stay up until 7am to play vidya' routine. It's good fun, but if you have any goals or anything to do, you'd force a normal circadian rhythm. This even for someone like an internet artist or a game dev (staying up late doesn't contribute to steady workflow).

My ex would sleep for 10-14hrs, so much that she was getting every negative effect of oversleeping. She had really bad PCOS. I read a study on it that mentioned PCOS is made significantly worse by oversleeping.
She got mad at me for mentioning it and continued oversleeping between work shifts and 12hr minecraft/mmo shifts.
She hit the wall crazy fast and it was the most sexless few years of my life.

I’ve fallen asleep to Death Stranding, Witcher 3, Xenoblade Chronicles X, GTA Online, and Kingdom Come Deliverance. I think the trick is to play something where 90% of the gameplay is just driving/riding from point A to point B
>>
>>738174701
This was me when I worked a previous job, waking up before bluelight is seriously mentally harmful, It's a very unexplored topic.
especially if you're working in an enclosed area with no sunlight. Your circadian rhythm is nonexistant and probably made worse by vidya/phone use.

maybe more than 50% of men are subjected to this their entire lives and live off 3-5 hours of sleep max during a work week, but people still have questions about heart failure, obesity and cancer rates of men when the most significant cause is right in front of them.

I can only get about 5 - 6 hours hours of sleep before I wake up around 3 or 4 am. Starting to think I'm haunted by some demon or some shit, happens way too frequently. Honestly pissing me off, I don't want to wake up until 9 am
>>
>>738173274
I had a real problem with this for years, managed to basically truck myself out of it. I looked up how sleep happens, and retard simple version your brain floods itself with chemicals in the lead up to sleep, and these contribute to resting even when you're not actually fully asleep yet. So I'd just focus on thinking "my brain is filling up with sleep chemicals right now and that counts". Which gave me something to focus on, relaxed me, and stopped me from worrying about missed sleep, then the slowed thoughts and lack of worry actually did put me to sleep. It's retarded but it worked.

Those are actually videos that a demon shows to us in our third eyes. If that’s even happening to his own clones, im not sure. He also clones himself which is the thing, but his clones have their own brains, so it comes across looking weird and realistic. He also lies about it kinda, but not really. Also he fucks them and gaurentees he gets to, but for us he makes it seem like we’re competing or something.

Why do instantly you assume he compusively looks at his phone during the night? I swear this is a normalfag thing I just don't get it, the idea of looking at my phone in bed has never occured to me once in my life outside remembering to turn on silent mode.
The same thing happened to me when I asked /fit/ for complements that would help with getting a better quality sleep. >>
>>738180925
We literally are, though. Let me try to break this down for you as I understand it:

>every organ in your body has a "clock" that it uses to determine activity regulation
>the "central" clock is your pineal gland
>the pineal gland follows the circadian rhythm (wake/sleep cycle based on whether your environment is light or dark)
>when you wake up at the same time every day, your body works in harmony
>when you don't, each organ begins to act on its own becuase the conductor doesn't know what the fuck to expect

So, yeah. You are wrong.

Reminder that using a screen, be it a phone, laptop, or TV, to fall asleep is still way healthier than taking handfuls of medication to do it.
People have been falling asleep to the TV for decades.
I will say that doomscrolling and interacting on the internet can be a distraction that keeps you awake, that is the actual problem. Watching a boring video you don't have to pay any attention to to fall asleep is completely healthy. Keep the volume low, set a screen timeout for about 30 minutes if it's a laptop.
Don't obsess over muh blue light, these are the same health scientists that can't decide if eggs and milk are great for you or give you a heart attack.

As a father of teenagers those little cunts need way more than 9 hours. This pic is bullshit. 12-14 hours for teens for sure.
>>

No, they are too stimulating and the light is harsh on your eyes and keeps you awake. Read a book.

Just slept from 11:00 to 7:30 after a weekend of travel and woke up to my cat cuddled up against me. Felt amazing.
Tomorrow I'll try to wake up before 7:00
>>
>try to fall asleep
>laying still
>suddenly feel jolt and sit upright
Am I dying? It goes away after I lay back down again but still it’s happened a few (not all) times

>Reminder that using a screen, be it a phone, laptop, or TV, to fall asleep is still way healthier than taking handfuls of medication to do it.
Fucking THIS. Ive always slept like a damn baby my entire life just by "tiring" my eyes out by watching stuff on my TV or playing games on my TV in my bedroom until i fall asleep lol.
Never took a SINGLE sleeping pill my entire life (35+ yrs).

Just read a damn boring book or read a boring visual novels folks.. trust me you'll black out before you know it.

Thanks for your input Mr. Montenegro.
>>
>>738170201
I would have to go to be asleep by 9:30 to get 7 hours. That's just not happening.
>>
>>738171493

But your phone constantly does some shit or tries to do/connect to something even if you mute it and shut down all the connections you can. It's best to play it safe in that way too, like what if it uses some wireless connection shit which low key disturbs sleep.
>>
>>738175470
The moral of this anon's story? Get more than an hour of sleep every week.
>>
>>738170201
So I'm still in the pre-school development wise? Great.

>>

>>
>>738193042
I got hit with insomnia since last year and now without my sleeping meds i only sleep 1hr
>>
>>738170201
I play Vampire Crawlers and/or Slay The Spire 2 and get so bored of my inevitable failure I close the games, shut my PC down and go to bed. The games aren't great (no card game is), but it's good sleep inducing fodder.
>>
I can only get roughly 6 hours of sleep and it's not enough.
Tired every day.
Go sleep at normal time > wake up early
Go sleep late > wake up early
Go sleep early > wake up even earlier
>>
>>738170517
Couldn't be mine.
>SHIT WE KEEP FIRING USELESS JEETS
>YOU, THE GOOD ONES? 14 YOUR SHIFTS
Not getting that sleep but the money's nice.

My record is 10 days no sleep
>>
>>738193515
Wtf, how? The world record is 11 days dude
>>
>>738193568
What? No way. Okay it wasn't 10 days in a row, there may have been 30 minutes of sleep somewhere in there but it was almost 10 days

not that anon but i went ten straight days with *literally* zero sleep after a bad reaction to an antidepressant i was prescribed gave me total insomnia (stopped taking it immediately but the insomnia never went away, and still hasn't after like a decade). it took my doctor that long to prescribe something to counteract it :^)
>>
Yeah no, 7 hours of sleep is not enough for higher cognitive functions i.e. imagination or strategic thinking.
6 hours and below feel so horrible i am certain it causes some level of brain damage
9 hours is optimal for anyone between 20 and 50 years old, but some of you might require more specially if you do sports.

I read a lot and i simply cannot enjoy or get into a book with less than 8 hours, and every time ive broken a personal record lifting has been on 9 hours

I heard that the reason you wake up in the middle of the night is because animals (namely cavemen) normally wake up in the middle of the night to change shifts with the night watchman. And so it’s perfectly healthy to wake up in the middle of the night so long as you go back to sleep right after. I’m hoping that’s true because even if I go to bed early I’m physically incapable of sleeping longer than six hours. I’ll probably be dead by fifty
>>
>>738170201
went to bed at 5am, woke up at 4pm feels well rested
>>
A very useful trick for sleeping if you are a wagie is to avoid staying up late or otherwise messing up your schedule during weekends, those gaming saturday nights are ruining your entire week
>>
Unrelated but just yesterday I woke up with no pants. I was wondering how the fuck did I wake up with my dick out but then I saw a crumpled up paper towel next to me and I realized I must’ve fallen asleep jerking off. Thankfully I was home alone and my door was locked
>>

Pokemon used to be amazing for this back before the series went to shit and ruined that feeling of everything you did mattering in future games.

Monster Hunter also used to be amazing for this before it "appealed to a broader audience" with world and turned into spectacle console slop that wastes your time instead of being a comfy handheld game.

Really though, all you need is some kinda chill game with shitloads of different micro-goals you can bounce between and spend time grinding away at, like in pokemon I used to throw the radio on in my room and try to find a chansey with a lucky egg using thief or whatever until inevitably waking up with a dead gameboy in my hand cause I fell asleep in the middle of playing.

I don't really think there's anything quite as effective as old dedicated handhelds when it comes to being a good sleepy time thing to help you pass out.

>set a sleep timer on my phone so it automatically sleeps after the timer runs out
>timer eventually runs out
>still awake
>>
>>738174501
Yeah low sleep is a ticket to early heart failure even controlling for stress, poor diet, stimulants
>>
>>738196247
those gaming saturday nights are the only good part of the week. i’ll sleep when im dead
>>
>>738175982
have you tried rubbing one out before bed?
>>
>>738173254
The quality of your sleep can vary if you get a complete REM cycle or not. Its why sometimes you can feel like shit after an 8+ hour sleep but can sometimes feel super rested after only 3 hours.
>>
>>738170201
I keep falling asleep playing 9 Kings on auto before bed. Only like 10 bucks too
>>
>>738196802
Based as fuck. Whats the point of working your ass off if you cant have fun.
Dont listen to that dude. As long as you have fun and you sleep enough to function during the week then it's all good
