One of the greatest games ever made, i don't even believe in space but this game makes me wish it was true.

just think, we are literally in the middle of space right now, clinging on to our speck of dust for dear life with no idea where the FUCK we are going

I'm mad they removed one of the bundles with the shit you need and now you only have the shit bundle left and whatever new shit they're trying to sell you
>>
>>738177207
two of the "you need" dlcs were just put in the basegame instead. That's probably what fucked it up.

Just get the base game and use creamapi noone will care.

>>
>>738174886
How do I git gud?
I have 100 hours in it now and a bunch of experience being bad at CK2 and HOI4.
I feel like the game is mostly "chill afk simulator" while always never having enough resources.
Haven't really felt a noticeable difference between the different starting races.
And the tech tree seems just fucking random, is that normal? Every guide I've seen has said to just train whichever techs have the shortest training time.
Should I just expand non-stop until I hit other people's borders? Or is there a limit I'm supposed to stop at? (like Global Happiness in Civ5).
t.Eve Online player that really wants to love this game but so many fucking reworks of systems over 10+ years makes it hard to find any accurate info.
>>
>>738174886
I liked it when I first bought it. Now what I own is only like 40% of the whole game now thanks to Paradox's faggot 200 paid DLC bullshit.

Genuinely, stop playing it as a strategy game. It's an infuriating combination of being both piss-easy and tedious that means you'll rapidly burn out on it if you do. Play it as a roleplaying game where you make suboptimal decisions for style/lore reasons and you'll have a much more rewarding time.
>>
So how is the late game now? Can I actually play the game?
>>
>>738178970
>Play it as a roleplaying game where you make suboptimal decisions for style/lore reasons and you'll have a much more rewarding time
I figured as much.
>>
>>738177854
almost all of them make the game worse
the rest are just neutral
>>
>>738175179
Space isn't real. We live in a simulation surrounded by a paradoxically infinite expanse because we aren't supposed to find the boundaries. Just like videogames use all kinds of systems to stop you from reaching the world's boundaries. If humans ever manage to travel to the boundary of space beyond the point where we're not supposed to go, they'll just fall through the map and glitch out of existence.
>>
Do the DLCs they churn out endlessly actually do anything to the game anymore?
>>
>>738180156
the subspace one added a bunch of pointless or overpowered lottery events to the midgame. Nemesis is quite good but theyve just recycled it 6 times now.

Biogenesis was so fucking broken and added fuck all.

I like Stellaris but it's genuinely been 4 different games at this point. i can't play like, Stellaris 3, I just have to go with Stellaris 4 because all the mods and the everything else is updated around it.

I get it but I also wish, for such different eras of the game, they'd just have made like 3/4 iterations.
>>
>>738180325
So is Nemisis essential now?
I have every DLC up to that one and then I stopped buying paradox DLC because they are overpriced and never on deep sale anymore
>>
>>738177294
>Just get the base game and use creamapi noone will care.
do you have to get new files on some gay russian forum every time theres an update?
or can you just update normally and retain access?
they constantly update the games
>>
>>738180470
I dont think you need it, but every dlc afterwards has done a worse version of the original Become The Crisis that Nemesis added

I like them overall, gives you a way to actually close out the game.

>2 major DLCs in the span of 6 months
>two scenarios with radically different gameplay
It's like some executive got offended by the fact that they didn't release a DLC in order to focus on fixing the game so they saddled the team with unreasonable demands
>empire type that doesn't exist on a planet and can travel anywhere
>not-trade routes with a mechanic to convince empires to let the nomad empire through
>megastructure that will probably ruin your relations with the galaxy if you fire it and will buff federations even more (assuming a one-per-empire limit)
>reworked an ascension perk into a not-crisis system
>>
>>738180578
just dont update? what do you care.
>>
>>738180724
you dont play paradox games do you?
they release the DLC in a broken state and constantly update it

I both miss and am relieved Sir Pratchett died. On one side I could really fucking use some pithy observations on the human condition but on the other times change and pulling the "dying before you're cast down" trick was probably a solid move given his daughter went nutto.
>>
>>738180790
you didnt tho
your method does not work for the reasons i just outlined
>>
Fuck no, it's not even a strategy game, it's a CRPG for retards where you pick the best build and EXPAAAAND while doing fetch quests
>>
>>738180581
It all sounds exciting and promising, but I'll only buy into the hype when the DLC launches and the game doesn't reach kusoge levels of lag. It happens with every Stellaris DLC launch. I hope the pleasure cruise origin works with rouge servitors at least so I can RP WALL-E.

I really fucking hate nu-Paradox "games".
They are basically badly programmed games that they sell to retarded autistic drones to con them into buying 10+ years of buggy, overpriced DLC.
They promise to fix the game every 2 months and all they do is scam more money of those suckers. I'd pity Paradrones but they really just make me angry.
>>
>>738180991
It's going to be a huge bugfest
>>738180578
As far as I know the DLC content itself is already in the game and what you're downloading is really just files that let you access it. It's the reason why you can play DLCs in multiplayer if the host has it. From my experience you don't need to download new files but you may need to reapply the crack if the game updates and it deletes your crack in the process of verifying file integrity.

There was a bug as well where you'd occasionally get access to dlc-only content when rolling for random civs.
>>
>>738181853
I wanted to play stellaris in the past but at this point I don't know which version of the game I should pirate. I heard some patches fucked the game over good.
