just finished sh3 and here is my ranking for the first three games>gameplay3>1>2>story2>1>3
Cool beans!Which ending(s) of each did you get?What difficulty modes did you play on?As and oldass OG SH-fag, my personal overall ranking goes:SH1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > Play Novel > SM > > > rest of the slop.
Idk, I would put 1's gameplay as last. I've tried to replay it many times and it never holds my attention for long enough to finish it. I think it's the monster design, child ghosts simply aren't scary.
>>738177284>Which ending(s) of each did you get?i saved the baby for 1, leave ending for sh2 , normal ending for sh3>What difficulty modes did you play on?normal in every game
>Mary where the FUCK are youYeah, way more interesting than 3's tale of rebirth, cults, and muh parents.
>>7381771463 is my favorite.
>>7381771461's story is just so much fucking better than 2 and 3, it's something I just didn't realize until I went back to the games recently. Shit gets super messy and inconsistent from 2 onwards, 1 is still a schizo game, but it's also really tight and makes a lot of sense if you treat it as its own thing.

I think it's the monster design, child ghosts simply aren't scary.I think you got a bit twisted understanding of "gameplay".The world design, pacing, overall challenge and replay value of SH1 easily towers above the rest. It's the SH2 and 3 that are tedious to replay, because of the slooow as hell start. And I say this as someone who's done each of the game a couple dozen times by now.>>738177401>i saved the baby for 1, leave ending for sh2 , normal ending for sh3Was SH1 the "Good" or "Good+" ending?Did you reach it yourself, or was it spoiled for you?Leave is the second most common ending people get in SH2. I recommend replaying it at some point and going for the "In Water" end.
>>738177146I thought I was a SH fan after playing 2. Then I realised it's literally the only good one, the rest are the same atrocious gameplay but without a decent story to carry it.
>>738177508>These things are not fucking human!Somebody post that webm
>>738177593>Was SH1 the "Good" or "Good+" ending?i did the good+>Did you reach it yourself, or was it spoiled for you?i saw a guide on how to reach it but it wasn't spoiled >Leave is the second most common ending people get in SH2.is the in water the most common? i thought it was leave, but yeah i will definitely replay all of them again to get different endings
>>738177861>is the in water the most common? The two might be 50-50, but most players and even the OG devs heavily lean on In Water being the "canon" one, and thematically the most sound one for the SH2's story. In general, the games are fun to replay. Not only because of the numerous endings and unlockables, but also because there's so many smaller details you easily miss on the first few playthroughs. The many "joke" endings are also hilarious.
>>738177146>silent hill threadNeat! Here's the SH PC GUIDE + PasteBin links:https://pastebin.com/uf5XhyXzPS: SH1 PC decomp soon, fellow Stalkers!
>>738177632>fake fan likes 2 the mostChecks out.
Where's Eileen? Is she alright?
>>7381771463 is the one who made me play all the others until the end.
>>738178795it's the most replayable and "gamey" for me
controversial opinion but sh4 was my favorite overall both in story and gameplayfor me it's 4>1>2>O>3>HC>DP>SMI haven't played the new one or the remake of 2
>>738177146There are only three games in the franchise thoughbeit
>>738179234>I haven't played the new one or the remake of 2And you don't have to.
